    Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve the quality of a color cathode-ray tube by subsidiarily irradiating exposure light having different illuminance distributions from a panel outside face side after irradiating with the exposure light from a panel inside face, and forming a fluorescent face allowing no occurrence of a portion having little adhesive strength of a fluorescent substance. CONSTITUTION: A color stripe layer 13 which is a light absorption layer for improving a contrast ratio is formed on the fluorescent face of a panel 10. Fluorescent substance slurry 21 is filled in a panel to the inside face of which an undercoat is applied. The slurry 21 is applied so as to have a fixed film thickness by rotating the panel at a low speed. The slurry 21 is dried so as to be a film-like green fluorescent substance 25. The panel 10 is set on an exposure base, and the fluorescent substance 25 is exposed by an aperture grill 23. Outside face subsidiary exposure is conducted. The exposure is conducted by an ultraviolet radiation from an extra-high pressure mercury lamp 29 provided on a panel outside face. For this purpose a shutter 31 and an illuminance distribution correction filter 33 are provide between the lamp 29 and the panel 10 so that an illuminance distribution against a panel outside face can arbitrarily be controlled.
