    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positioning device of a magnetic head, which is capable of performing the accurate high speed tracking control, the track jump control, etc., and to provide also a magnetic disk device of high density recording. SOLUTION: A turning type actuator 1 is constituted of an actuator 1a for coarse motion and an actuator 1b for fine motion. The actuator 1b for fine motion is fixed to an arm 13 of the actuator 1a for coarse motion by a hinge spring 19 which is a leaf spring-stated member. The actuator 1b for fine motion is moved to the direction shown by the arrow L in parallel by the force due to the mutual electromagnetic operation between a magnet 14 and a 2nd coil 16. The magnetic head mounted on a slider 18 is roughly positioned around the desired track on the disk at high speed by the actuator 1a for coarse motion, and the accurate positioning and tracking of the magnetic head against the track are performed by the actuator 1b for fine motion.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the setting of stroke of a slide shutter for opening/closing a head inserting port to be long by parting an elastic body pressing the slide shutter and a disk-like recording medium by a partition member so as not to be positioned on the same plane. SOLUTION: The elastic twist coil spring 58 for pressing the slide shutter 57 is housed in an elastic body housing part where is a spatial part surrounded with the partition member 64 and an upper shell 52, and the slide shutter 57 is always pressed in the direction to close the head inserting port 56 by this spring force. By increasing the size of the twist coil spring 58, the head inserting port 56 is set to the size required for the use of a turnable actuator. Further, the interference between the coil spring 58 and the disk member 70 is prevented in such a manner that the disk housing part 54 is partitioned by the partition member 64 and the height of the twist coil spring 58 is made different from that of the disk member 70.

CONSTITUTION: When the center core 33 of the disk 32 is being fixed to a magnet 14 of the spindle motor 13, the gap D3 between the lower surface of the center core 33 and the inner surface of the main body 31 of cartridge is set so as to be larger than the gap D1 between the upper surface of the center core 33 and the inner surface of a top cover 12. So, when the vibration or impact is exerted and the cartridge main body 31 is thereby moved upward, the upper surface of the cartridge main body 31 is abuts on the top cover 12 and stops, before the cartridge main body 31 is brought into contact with the center core 33. Thus, such a state that the center core 33 and the disk 32 are brought into contact with the cartidge main body 31, can be avoided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent damage in a magnetic head and a disk and destruction in the recording information of the disk by engaging or moving an actuator turning the magnetic head of its tip to a stoppage position depending on the detection result of a loading state of a cartridge. CONSTITUTION: When a detection mechanism 34 or 37 detects the insertion or the taking-out of the cartridge 22, a controller 30 releases a lock means 35, or operates a retreat means 31. Thus, the turning actuator 25 is moved to a loading position or a retreat position, and when recording/reproducing state or an ejection button 32 is operated, the actuator 25 is locked to the stoppage position. Simultaneously, an ejection mechanism 33 ejects the cartridge 22 from a main body by signals of the mechanisms 34, 37, and the device returns to an initial state. Thus, the erroneous loading of the actuator 25, the erroneous taking-out of the cartridge, the damage in a tip head slider and the magnetic head, and the destruction in the recording information of the magnetic disk are prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To enlarge a recording range of a disk and to surely prevent runaway of a turning actuator. CONSTITUTION: A rotary lever 30 is arranged under the turning actuator 14 turnably by a rotary shaft 31. The dimple 20 of the turning actuator 14 gets on a ramp 25 at a standby time. Then, when the magnetic disk 13 is rotated, the turning actuator 14 is get off the ramp 25 to be moved onto the magnetic disk 13. Thereafter, the rotary lever 30 is rotated clockwise, and the tip of the ramp 25 is moved outside of the magnetic disk 13. Thus, the recording range of the magnetic disk 13 is enlarged. Further, at this time, an OD stopper 23 on the upper end part of the rotary lever 30 is moved to the magnetic disk 13 side, and it controls the rotation of the turning actuator 14 clockwise. Thus, the runaway of the turning actuator 14 is prevented surely.
