Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily change the telephone number of a subscriber to be automati cally called by using a password number and a prescribed command. CONSTITUTION:In case of the change of the telephone number of the subscriber to be automatically called, and automatic answering telephone set (hereinafter referred to as the set) is set to the remote control mode. When keys, for exam ple, '(1){A50F/30}' and '9' are depressed to send the first command, the set is set to the change mode of the telephone number of the subscriber to be automatically called. The telephone number of a new subscriber to be automati cally called is sent to the set by the key operation and is stored, and thereafter, the command due to the second depression of '*' and '9' to report the transmis sion end. The same number is inputted again by the key operation for the purpose of confirming the new inputted telephone number and is collated with said stored telephone number, and the command due to the third depression of '*' and '9' is sent after confirmation. Thus, the set terminates the telephone number change mode and the automatic calling function is turned on automati cally.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To know the name of a caller, etc., incoming during the sending of an answering message by providing a recording means, which records, at least, a part of the message, incoming from the caller during the reproduction of the answering message. CONSTITUTION:When the incoming of a telephone appears at an automatic answering mode, a bell signal tone from a line is detected by an incoming detection circuit 10. A microcomputer 12 turns a tape deck 1 into a reproduction mode based on this detection, and at the same time, makes a reproduction circuit part 15 and an index recording/reproducing part 7 operate. An answering message (OGM) signal, reproduced from a tape 2, is sent from the circuit 15 to the line and transmitted to the caller. At this time, if it is assumed that the caller spoke a part of his own business message (ICM), e.g., the name of the caller, the said ICM signal is impressed to a recording/reproducing part 7 and recorded in a RAM 8. This recording is carried out for required time from the start of the sending of the OGM. Thus, at least, the name of the caller is recorded in the RAM 8, and the name of the caller can be known.

At this time, by raising a handset by a transfer opponent, and generating the nonaudio state for the prescribed time, the message is outputted. When a receiver is absent, the automatic answering telephone set 5 is operated.

When the OGM reproduction is finished, the message recording mode is set and an ICM signal from the caller is fed to a head 13 through the terminal 2, the incoming circuit 3, the transformer 4, the switch 5, a recording amplifier 21 and the switch 10, thereby recorded on a tape 18.

When the remote control signal is transmitted from the user through the line during the reproduction of the OGM, it is detected by a remote control signal detecting circuit 11. When the remote control signal comes consecutively, the tape 1 is rewound and after the absence of the remote control signal is awaited, the mode is changed into the recording mode.
