Abstract:
An optical disc device capable of recording a moving picture as well as a still image file other than the moving picture. The optical disc device includes: a microcomputer (4) for generating information on controlling a fi le to be recorded; recording means having a DVD signal processor (14) for combining the file to be recorded and control information corresponding to t he file and recording the combined set on a program area of an optical disc, a random access memory (15), an analog front end portion (16), a motor amplifi er (18), an optical head (19), and a spindle motor (20); and the microcomputer (4) functioning as control means for controlling operation of the microcomputer (4) constituting at least control information generation means and the recording means. According to a file attribute, the microcomputer (4 ) switches the file and the control information recording format for the progr am area.
Abstract:
A recording method of a recording medium such as an optical disc. Each time one VTS is created, padding is executed and after the VTS, a recording area is assured for a new TMP_VMGI and a subsequent title VTSI, VTSM VOBS, so that each time one VTS is created, a new TMP/VMGI is recorded after the VTS so that the TMP_VMGI is recorded at the position added by the number of VTS. Thus, even if management information cannot be read in by updating exceeding the medium write intensity with respect to the recording area of the TMP_VMGI of the innermost circumference, it is possible to read in management information from a TMP_VMGI recorded in the other recording area, thereby enabling finalization.
Abstract:
A recording device and a recording method capable of recording both of moving picture data and still picture data in such a manner that they can be reproduced by various reproduction devices. The moving picture data is data-compressed by the MPEG method in an MPEG encoder (2), formed into recording data corresponding to a predetermined recording format in a format formation section (3), and recorded in a DVD (100) while the still picture data is data-compressed by the JPEG method in a JPEG encoder (6) and recorded in the DVD (100) separately from the moving picture data. At a predetermined timing, the still picture data which has been data-compressed by the JPEG method and recorded in the DVD (100) is read out and converted into an I picture of the MPEG method in a format conversion section (7). The I picture is recorded in the aforementioned predetermined format in the DVD (100) via the format formation section (3).
Abstract:
A recorder capable of improving the operability of a DVD camcoder for recording a video in a video format. When the DID camcoder is instructed to start recording at time T11, and to stop the recording at time T12, the DVD camcoder takes a pause at time T12. The then address etc. of an optical disk are saved in a recording RAM. When the DVD camcoder is instructed to resume the recording at time T13, the address saved in the recording RAM is read, and the recording is resumed from the location of the optical disk corresponding to the address. This recorder can be applied to a DVD camcoder.
Abstract:
This invention is a recording medium recording method for an optical disc or the like. Every time one VTS is prepared, padding processing is executed to secure a recording area for new TMP_VMGI following that VTS and for VTSI and VTSM VOBS of the subsequent title. As, every time one VTS is prepared, new TMP_VMGI following that VTS is recorded, TMP_VMGI is recorded at the position that is added to the number of VTSs. Therefore, even when the management information becomes unreadable because of update exceeding the rewriting durability of the medium with respect to the recording area of TMP_VMGI on the innermost side, the management information can be read from TMP_VMGI recorded in the other recording areas and the finalizing processing can be executed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a recording apparatus to permit recording of also a file of still pictures other than moving pictures, in which individual management information can be accessed via guide information for an extended file in consideration and an identification code CAT ID indicative of the type of the extended file and recording format CAT INFO TYPE of the management information are allocated to the extension-file guide information.
Abstract:
The address of management information (DK) is identified with reference to a management table (TV) recorded in a fixed area on the optical disk, and a recording format is selected for the management information (DK) to be recorded in combination with an extension file (EF).
