Abstract: The method involves determining linear combination coefficients in an iterative manner, where a new value of one of the coefficients is equal to a sum of last determined value of the coefficient and a term comprising a product of an iteration pace and an error term. The error term is equal to the difference of predetermined estimations for a given carrier of the symbol. The iteration pace is determined in an iterative manner. The estimation is equal to a ratio between a received coefficient associated to the carrier and a predetermined theoretical coefficient. An independent claim is also included for a coded orthogonal frequency division multiplex (COFDM) demodulator that receives successive symbols of a signal received from a transmission channel.

Abstract: L'invention concerne un procédé de démodulation COFDM de symboles successifs, chaque symbole comportant des porteuses de données et des pilotes. Le procédé comprend, pour chaque symbole, la détermination d'estimations de la fonction de transfert du canal pour les porteuses du symbole, consistant à déterminer, pour des premières porteuses telles que, pour les positions en fréquences des porteuses considérées, des symboles différents dudit symbole comprennent des pilotes, une première estimation (Hn-1,A, Hn-2,A, Hn-3,A) à partir de deuxièmes estimations (Hn-24,A, Hn-20,A, Hn-16,A, Hn-12,A, Hn-8,A, Hn-4,A, Hn,A) obtenues pour des pilotes ayant la fréquence de ladite porteuse ; et à déterminer, pour des secondes porteuses, une troisième estimation à partir des premières estimations. Pour au moins une première porteuse, la première estimation est en outre déterminée à partir d'au moins la troisième estimation déterminée pour une porteuse d'un symbole reçu avant ledit symbole à la même fréquence que ladite porteuse.
