Abstract:
The invention provides a method for making water-blown closed cell rigid foams comprising using as a polymer base a polyol selected from the group consisting of: (a) a polyester polyol with an average functionality of at least 1.6 and an OH value of at least 200; and (b) a polyether polyol with an average functionality of at least 2 and an OH value of at least 200. The invention also provides water-blown closed cell rigid foams comprising a polymer base selected from the group consisting of: (a) a polyester polyol with an average functionality of at least 1.6 and an OH value of at least 200; and (b) a polyether polyol with an average functionality of at least 2 and an OH value of at least 200.

Anhydrous and water-in-oil antiperspirant formulations are disclosed comprising effective suspending amounts of a compound of formula (A), wherein R1 and R2 are independently selected from the group consisting essentially of H or C1 - C40 linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkylene, alkaryl, aryl or R3-O-R4 groups, with R3 and R4 being independently selected from the group consisting essentially of C1 - C22 linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkylene, alkaryl and aryl groups; y is an integer of a value satisfying the valency of M; and M is a cation, preferably selected from the groups comprising H?+, Na+, K+, Ba++, Ca++, Mg++, Al+++, Ti+++, Zn++, NH¿4+, R5R6R7N+H wherein R¿5?, R6, and R7 are the same or different and are selected from the groups comprised of H, C1 - C20 linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkylene, aryl straight or branched chain alkyl or alkylene C1 - C40 groups or R8-O-R9 groups with R8 and R9 being independently selected from the groups comprised of C1 - C22 linear or branched, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkylene, alkaryl and aryl groups, and mixtures thereof. The invention encompasses formulated shampoos, surfactant solutions, emulsifier solutions and suspensions comprising effective amounts of salts of general formula (I) wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and represent alkyl or alkene having 8 to 40 carbon atoms, R3 and R4 are the same as R1 and R2, and R5 and R6 are hydrogen; or R3, R4, R5, and R6 are independently hydrogen, alkyl or alkene having 1 to 40 carbon atoms when R1 and R2 are alkyl or alkene having 14-22 carbon atoms; and X represents ortho, para, or meta substituted phenyl, or alkylene or alkenylene having 0-6 carbon atoms, or cycloalkylene having 5 to 7 carbon atoms. The invention also encompasses formulated conditioning shampoos, surfactant solutions, emulsifier solutions and suspensions comprising effective amounts of mixtures of a salt of formula (I) and an acid of formula (II) wherein R1 and R2 are the same or different and represent alkyl or alkene having 8 to 40 carbon atoms, and X represents ortho, para, or meta substituted phenyl, or alkylene or alkenylene having 0-6 carbon atoms, or cycloalkylene having 5 to 7 carbon atoms.
