Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a foam molding method and a device which molds a product of high quality and at high speed by, thermally causing a foaming material to foam under foaming control and molding the foaming material rapidly in a free foaming process. CONSTITUTION:A foaming material 1 is held by a clamp 2, and then is pressed by pressing elements 5, 6 of paired thermal plates 3, 4 provided on both sides of the clamp 2. In addition, a thermal foaming process is controlled by controlling the pressing force stepwise. Next, the pressure is released by parking the pressing elements 5, 6 to both sides to stop the foaming process control. After that, the thermal plates 3, 4 are instantaneously moved from the foaming material 1 and the heating of the foaming material 1 is instantaneously discontinued so that the foaming material 1 is allowed to foam freely. If the thermal plates 3, 4 are moved, dies 7, 8 are set against the foaming material 1. Next, the foaming material 1 is promptly molded by the dies 7, 8 in the free foaming process.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a billet large in reduction in area and plural contractions, too, at the same time in necessary and minimum times of impacts by striking it with dies different in thickness shape and opposed interval, successively, in accordance with the axial elongation of the billet and the radial contraction dimension. CONSTITUTION:Rams 2 on both sides push the rear ends of the forming parts 3a of 1st dies by the transfer of hydraulic oil under the pressure of a power generator against pull back springs 19, a 1st rough forging for the billet 30 is performed by the forming parts 3a of the 1st die as it is rotated by a manipulator 28 by a prescribed angle and prescribed times of rotation. Then, a die set 14 moves a prescribed distance to the rear side of the device and the forming part 3b of a 2nd die 16 comes to the position of the billet 30 and strikes it several times at the same way. The forging parts 3b of the 2nd die 16 are larger in thickness than the forging parts 3a of the 1st die 16 and the opposed interval between right and left in the 2nd die 16 is set to be narrower than that in the 1st die, therefore, the stroke of the 2nd die 16 is larger to the same amount of stroke of the ram 2 and the billet 30 is formed larger in the diametrical and axial directions than the forging shape by the 1st die 16.
