Abstract: PURPOSE: To easily change the size or/and the shape of a scanning pattern by providing a first and a second light-directional optical elements kept apart from each other along an optical path, and rotating each element around each axis. CONSTITUTION: A first rotating means 22 which fixes the first element 15 at a first inclination angle A in respect of a first axis C, and rotates the first element 16 around the first axis C at first angular velocity W1 and a second rotating means 30 which fixes the second element 18 at a second inclination angle B in respect of a second axis D, and rotates the second element 18 around the second axis D at second angular velocity W2 are provided. By the motion of a light beam directed toward such two revolving elements 16, 18, the multi- directivity scanning pattern is generated on a reference plane, and its size and the shape are based on each angular velocity W1 , W2 , the size of each inclination angle A, B and the rotating direction of each element 16, 18. Thus, the size and the shape of the pattern can be adjusted as desired.
