Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curing resin composition for a photo-spacer with which a flexible photo-spacer with little plastic deformation and with superior elastic characteristics is formed, and to provide a color filter having this kind of photo-spacer. SOLUTION: The curing resin composition for the photo-spacer comprises a hydrophilic polymer with a polycyclic annular skeleton (A), an ethylenic unsaturated compound (B) and a polymerization initiator (C) and is characterized by producing a hardened substance having 0.1 or lower tan δ value. Also the color filter has the photo-spacer, which is formed of the hardenable resin composition and of which the elastic recovery [äelastic deformation (μm)/total deformation (μm)}×100], with respect to 0.2-0.8 mN/μm 2 pressure at 25°C is 50% or higher, and further, of which the plastic deformation at the time of deformation with load producing total deformation equal to 20% of height of the photo-spacer is equal to 10% or less thereof. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide heat resistant color filters which have excellent flatness used for color sepn., reflection prevention and display contrast improvement used for a display having a high-temp. process in production process and have an improved substrate adhesion property and reflectivity decrease. SOLUTION: This heat resistant color filters are constituted by forming black matrices 10, colored patterns 11 and an over-coating layer 12 covering these matrices and patterns and having light transparency on a transparent substrate 1. The surface of the transparent substrate of the portions formed with the black matrices of the heat resistant color filters is roughened. Since the surface of the transparent substrate of the portions formed with the black matrices is roughened, the reflection on the surface in these portions is scattered and the components returning by direct reflection are relatively decreased and, therefore, the drastic decrease of the surface reflectivity is made possible.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for preparing a spacer of a color filter for a liquid crystal display device and a projection for alignment restriction of liquid crystal by a highly flexible manufacturing method for flexibly responding to change of the liquid crystal material with a small amount of used material and change following cell gap change between a color filter substrate and a TFT substrate, and to provide the color filter and the liquid crystal display device using the same. SOLUTION: This color filter has a black matrix layer, respective colored layers of three or more colors, and a laminated section where colored layers of one or more colors stacked on the black matrix layer on a transparent substrate. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a color filter by which the color filter having a flat pixel shape is manufactured using an inkjet process. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the color filter comprises: a step of forming a light shielding layer having a predetermined pattern and film thickness T1 on a transparent substrate; a heating step of ejecting a colored composition of each color so as to form a specified arrangement onto an opening part of the light shielding layer according to the inkjet process, then vaporizing solvent by the heating of 50 to 150°C for 1 to 5 min thereby forming a colored layer having a thickness of T2; and a step of thermally curing the colored layer by the heating of 180 to 250°C for 10 to 60 min, wherein the ratio (T2/T1) of the film thickness T2 of the colored layer to the film thickness T1 of the light shielding layer is 0.8 to 1.5. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the color filter includes a step of forming partitions having a plurality of opening portions on a transparent substrate, a step of supplying coloring ink to the opening portions of the partitions by an ink jet printer, and a step of curing the coloring ink. The coloring ink contains at least coloring pigment, binder resin, and a solvent, and the weight ratio of the color pigment and binder resin contained in the coloring ink is 3:7 to 5:5. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter in which barrier wall parts separating pixels of respective colors are formed in an ideal quadrangular shape or a reverse tapered shape so as not to cause deformation due to heat sagging of a thermosetting resin, and colored compositions in the respective pixels are flat and free from color unevenness, with respect to the color filter used for a liquid crystal display device such as television. SOLUTION: By using a resin including a structure having radical polymerizable groups in a resin composition used for the barrier wall parts, thermal polymerization by heating of the barrier wall parts is strengthened. SOLUTION: Binder resin, a composition which is cation-polymerizable, a cation-producing agent, and a dehydrating agent are used for a resin composition used for the partition wall part to enhance the effect of the cation producing agent. Consequently, the cross-linking reaction between the binder resin and cation-polymerizable compound is increased, and the colored compositions in the respective pixels formed by ink jetting become flat, thereby obtaining the color filter which is free of color uneveness and has superior characteristics. The composition contains at least an alkali-soluble resin, a photopolymerization initiator and a polymerizable monomer as well as the fine particles insoluble with a solvent or the composition contains at least an alkali-soluble novolac resin and a naphthoquinonediazide derivative as well as the fine particles insoluble with a solvent.
