PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter for preventing color mixing between adjoining pixels upon manufacturing a color filter by use of an ink-jet system. SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: forming a light shielding layer in a predetermined pattern on a transparent substrate; discharging color materials of the respective colors onto openings of the light shielding layer to obtain a specified arrangement by an ink-jet method to form a color layer having a first film thickness; vaporizing the solvent in the color layer to reduce the film thickness of the color layer into a second film thickness smaller than the first film thickness; and heat treating the color layer. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a color filter for printing coloring ink with an ink jet, the manufacturing method for the color filter being characterized in that a partition wall part which does not deform owing to heat sagging of thermosetting resin of a black matrix and is in an ideal quadrangular or inversely tapered shape is provided to make a colored composition in each pixel flat and free of color unevenness. SOLUTION: Binder resin and a melamine derivative which crosslinks with the binder resin are used for the partition wall part, and cured at low temperature to obtain a partition wall part which is in an excellent shape free of heat sagging. Further, this partition wall part is not dissolved in coloring ink. Consequently, a colored composition in each pixel formed with an ink jet becomes flat and then a high-definition color filter can be obtained which is free of color unevenness and has excellent characteristics. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing color filter capable of inexpensively forming a black matrix and a colored pattern in such a satisfactory dimensional precision as to accommodate to a large screen and obtaining a high-definition color filter having no color irregularity without using a photolithography method with a mask. SOLUTION: The color filter is manufactured as follow; a light shielding layer is formed on a transparent substrate by using a printing method, a negative resist layer is formed, thereafter, exposure and development is performed via a mask having a light shielding layer pattern, subsequently, an ink repellent agent is formed on the negative resist layer, whereby, a barrier wall formed by laminating the light shielding layer, the negative resist layer and the ink repellent agent layer is provided and inkjet ink is delivered into the barrier wall. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a color filter, which has the flatness of a pixel shape and a color filter surface in manufacturing the color filter using an inkjet system and to provide a color filter. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the color filter includes at least: a step of forming a light-shielding layer made of a prescribed pattern on a transparent substrate; a drying step of vaporizing a solvent to form a colored layer in the opening of the light-shielding layer after a colored ink is discharged by the inkjet method to form a prescribed arrangement; and a heating step of thermally curing to form the colored layer, wherein the film thickness distribution of the colored layer obtained in the drying step is in the range of 80-110% of the film thickness of the light-shielding layer and the oxygen concentration of an atmosphere in a heating furnace in the heating step is ≤1.0%.
