    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high-shrinkage polyester staple fibers which give bulky woven fabric of high light fastness, swelling feel and soft touch by treating drawn yarns of a specific copolyester with heat under specific conditions. SOLUTION: Copolyester drawn fibers which contain isophthalic acid and 2,2-bis 4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl}propane as copolymerization components, simultaneously satisfy formulas I-III [p(a) is the molar fraction of isophthalic acid based on the whole acids in %; p(b) is the molar fraction of 2,2-bis 4-(2- hydroxyethoxy)phenyl}propane], have an intrinsic viscosity of >=0.52, a crystallinity of 15-30%, an optical birefrigence of 100×10 -145×10 and a shrinkage stress of >=150mg/d, are heat treated at 120-180 deg.C under -2-+5% relaxation for >=2 seconds whereby high-shrinkage polyester staple fibers are obtained with a boiling water shrinkage of =1.2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To inhibit the sedimentation and agglomeration of particles and the deterioration of the color tone of a polymer, and to improve the whiteness, by adding a specific slurry at an arbitrary stage during the reaction of a dicarboxylic acid (derivatives capable of forming esters) with ethylene glycol. CONSTITUTION:10-80wt.% CaCO3 (a) having a mean particle diameter of 0.05-5mum, preferably 0.2-2mum, and a phosphorus compound (b) (e.g., phosphoric acid) with the molar ratio of the component (b) to the component (a) of 0.0005-0.2 are dispersed in ethylene glycol (c), and the dispersion is subjected to heat treatment at 50 deg.C - the boiling point to obtain an ethylene glycol slurry (C) containing the components (a) and (b). While a dicarboxylic acid (derivatives capable of forming esters) (A) is reacted with ethylene glycol (B), the component (C) is added at an arbitrary stage of the reaction of the components (A) and (B), with the amount of the compound (C) such that the content of the component (a) of the polyester which will be obtained will be 5-60wt.%, thereby producing the polyester. The obtained polyester is molded into a sheet, stretched biaxially 2.5-4.0-fold respectively and thermally fixed at 150 deg.C of over, thereby producing a white polyester film having a density of 0.9-1.3g/cm .

SOLUTION: The polyamide monofilament has a compression deformation rate of >=5.6% and a number of times of bending abrasion needed before monofilament breakage of >=2.2×10 . The industrial textile is produced by using the monofilament at least in a part of the textile.
