    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a melt-moldable thermoplastic polyaramid copolymer having good heat stability and good flow, by reacting an aromatic dicarboxylic acid dichloride with a mixture of two specified aromatic diamines at a specified molar ratio. CONSTITUTION:1mol of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid (A) of formula I (wherein R1 is a 1-4 C alkyl or alkoxy or the like and a is 1-4), 0.1-0.9mol of an aromatic diamine (B) of formula II and 0.9-0.1mol of an aromatic diamine (C) of formula III (wherein R2 is a 1-4 C alkyl or phenyl and b is 1-2) are mixed together so that the sum of components B and C may be about 1mol, and the obtained mixture is reacted. In this way, the titled copolymer essentially consisting of structural units of formulas IV, V and VI, wherein 1mol of the sum of units of formula V and units of formula VI are present per mol of units of formula IV and 0.90-0.1mol of units of formula VI are present per 0.1-0.9mol of units of formula V, and units of formula IV are alternately bonded to units of formula V or VI can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled copolymer outstanding in fluidity and melt formability, suitable for electrical and electronic parts, etc., by copolymerization between an aromatic tricarboxylic acid anhydride and mixed diamine made up of each specific aromatic diamine having aryl ether bond and aramid diamine. CONSTITUTION:(A) 1mol of an aromatic tricarboxylic acid anhydride monochloride and (B) 0.9-1.1mol of a mixed diamine made up of (i) 10-95mol% of an aryl ether bond unit-carrying aromatic diamine corresponding to structural unit of formula II (X is aromatic group; a is 0-2; b is 1-4) and (ii) 90-5mol% of a second aromatic diamine corresponding to structural unit of formula III are dissolved in an organic polar solvent (e.g. N,N-dimethylacetamide), being brought to reaction, pref. at -20-80 deg.C to form a polyamide amic acid. The resulting acid is dehydrated by e.g. liquid phase thermal ring closure process to obtain the objective copolymer constituted by structural units of formulae I (Z is aromatic group), II and III, respectively.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the titled melt-formable copolymer of both good thermal stability and fluidity, containing each specified amount of isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid and aromatic diamine residues. CONSTITUTION:The objective copolymer constituted chiefly by essential structural units of (A) formula I (R1 is 1-4C alkyl, alkoxy or halogen, a is integer 1-4), (B) formula II (n is 0 or 1) and (C) formula III, respectively. The amounts of each structural unit is such as to be 1mol of the components B plus C per 1mol of the component A and 0.70-0.02mol of the component C per 0.30-0.98mol of the component B. Furthermore, the molar ratio of the m- phenylene bond to the p-phenylene bond in the component A unit falls between 40/60 and 100/0, and also, the component A and (component B or C) are alternately linked with each other.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain the titled copolymer, having improved thermal, mechanical and chemical properties and suitable as a material for molded articles and films, etc., in parts for hot water, parts for medical and food uses, etc. CONSTITUTION:A polymer, obtained by mixing (A) 50-99mol% dihalogen compound, e.g. 4,4'-difluorodiphenyl sulfone, etc., and (B) 50-1mol% dihalogen compound, e.g. 1,5-difluoroanthraquinone, etc., with (C) an alkali metal salt, e.g. lithium salt, etc., of a dihydric phenol, e.g. 1,3-bis-(4-hydroxy)benzene, etc., at equimolar ratio based on the components (A) and (B) and reacting them at, e.g. 50-450 deg.C while heating and stirring, consisting of structural units expressed by formula I (Ar is bifunctional aromatic residue) and formula II and having >=0.5 inherent viscosity.

In this way, the title polymer comprising alternately bonded recurring structural units of formula IV (wherein z is a trifunctional aromatic group) and structural units of formula V can be obtained.
