Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide a polyester film for photography, which comprises a specific amount of recurring structural units of ethylene 2,6-naphthalate, thus shows good handleability and processability, has high heat resistance, strength and dimensional stability and can be made into thin film with curls reduced. CONSTITUTION: Dimethyl 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylate and ethylene glycol are charged in an ester-interchanging reactor equipped with a stirrer, a distillation column and a condenser to effect the ester-interchanging reaction in the presence of calcium acetate and antimony trioxide, then the temperature is raised up to 285 deg.C to effect polycondensation reaction whereby polyester is obtained. Then, the polyester is precrystallized at 150 deg.C, vacuum-dried at 180 deg.C and extruded out of the head, solidified by cooling on the cooling drum, biaxially oriented in succession, annealed at 90 deg.C to give this polyester film for photography having more than 80-mole% of ethylene 2,6-naphthalate unit as recurring structural units and a Young's modulus ratio of 1.1-1.8 in the longitudinal/traverse directions.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester film for lamination with a metallic sheet excelling in adhesion, formability, heat resistance, impact resistance and taste characteristics and desirably used for processing a metallic can by laminating a specified polyester film having a specified melting point with a common polyester film. CONSTITUTION:This film is one having a melting point of 120-260 deg.C and containing 0.01-1wt.% diethylene glycol component and 0.001-1wt.% antioxidant. A film prepared by laminating this film (A) with a polyester film (B) mainly consisting of a polyester of a melting point of 231-260 deg.C is preferable in respect that layer A has a function of improving the adhesion to a metallic sheet, and layer B has a function of preventing the inside surface of the can from being damaged by the holder used in baking the can itself after being made. It is desirable from the viewpoint of the taste characteristics that layer B is substantially free from any antioxidant.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain recovering property from curling while maintaining transpar ency, mechanical characteristics and dimensional stability by specifying the size of curls. CONSTITUTION:The size of curls of the film is specified to 5-100m . It is preferable that the polyester film has a multilayer structure and consists of at least three layers to obtain recovering property for curling. These layers A, A', B are formed in such a manner that the layer A is 1.2-10 times as thick as the layer A'. The polyester used essentially consists of aromatic dibasic acid and glycols. As for the dibasic acid, terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, diphenylsulfone dicarboxylic acid and the like are used. As for the glycols, ethyleneglycol, propyleneglycol, tetramethyleneglycol, propyleneglycol and the like are used.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve hand and design properties by adding a resin/adhesive/ fiber cloth composite layer having a grain pattern at least on one side surface to a composite sheetlike material in which a resin layer having orientated crystal is integrated with fiber cloth through an adhesive layer. CONSTITUTION:A composite sheetlike material comprises a resin with the layer 2 through an adhesive layer 3. In this case, a resin/adhesive/fiber cloth composite layer 4 having a grain pattern is added to at least one side surface of the material. Incidentally, a thickness of the layer 2 is specified to 10mum or less. The layer 3 is formed of thermoplastic resin having a lower melting point than those of the layer 2 and the cloth 1. Further, the cloth 1 is formed of woven knitted fabric using ultrafine fiber having 0.5 denier or less, and the knitted fabric is formed by entangling yarns both therebetween and in the yarn at least at ultrafine fibers or formed of yarns in which a plurality of ultrafine fibers having different shrinkage factors are dispersively arranged at random.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the adhesion of a synthetic resin layer and a foam layer in a synthetic resin laminate and to bond both layers in an extremely simple manner. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin laminate is formed by integrally bonding at least a synthetic resin layer and a foam layer through cloth and the cloth is mainly composed of a core-sheath type composite fiber constituted of a sheath part composed of an adhesive component and a core part composed of a strong component. Especially, the cloth composed of the core-sheath type composite fiber thus constituted is used as an adhesive layer and interposed between the synthetic resin layer and the foam layer to integrally bond both layers.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To paste a cloth to a molded foam with an adhesive component fused and improve the brittleness and anti-breakdown and anti-splashing properties of the molded foam by heating the cloth consisting of composite fiber with a reinforcing component, and an adhesive component, in such a state that the cloth is maintained in close contact with the molded foam. CONSTITUTION:A cloth consisting of composite fiber and/or composite yarn with an adhesive component and a reinforcing component is heated in such a state that the cloth is kept in close contact with a molded foam. Subsequently, the cloth is attached to part or the entirety of molded foam surface by thermally deforming and/or melting the adhesive component. In this case, arranging the adhesive component on the periphery or the external shell of the composite fiber is recommended. In a core/sheath-type composite fiber 1 with a core component 2 and a sheath component 3, for example, the adhesive component should preferably be arranged in the sheath component 3. Thus the brittleness of the molded foam is ameliorated and further its anti-breakdown properties to various external forces and anti-splashing properties are improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide civil engineering materials for hardening and fixing the fluidic soil and quality thereof containing much water content. CONSTITUTION:A shell layer 2 is provided in at least a portion with water permeable pores or gaps and constituted tubularly with one end 4 closed. High water absorbing property and water insoluble resin 3 is enclosed in the shell layer which is swollen and hardened by water absorption to be fixedly configured into a solid pillar structure. Thus, while it can sufficiently absorb water content in moist soil, it does not become fluidic, but contrarily hardens and fixes by absorbing water so that the configuration of soil can be fixed and stabilized to improve the quality of the soil.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a capacitor wherein the thickness of dielectric is thin, the size is very small, the weight is light, and the cost is low, by constituting a fiber of at least two electrode layer parts and a dielectric layer part interposing between the electrode layer parts, and completing-electrical connection by using external electrodes or lead wires. CONSTITUTION:A fiber type member constituted of two electrode layer parts 1, 3 and a dielectric part 2 interposing between them is connected with external electrodes or leads, thereby realizing capacitor function. Troubles that a thin film is apt to be broken, its dealing is difficult, and pin holes are apt to be generated can be avoided. In the title fiber, the dielectric layer can precisely, easily, and stably very thin, so that a very small-sized capacitor can be constituted.
