    Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain a resin composition which readily gives homogeneous film excellent in pin-hole resistance at cold temperature because of its highly stabilized viscosity while it stays by using a polyamide resin, a partially saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and a higher fatty acid metal salt. CONSTITUTION: This resin composition comprises (A) 5-45wt.% of a polyamide resin, (B) 95-55wt.% of a partially saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and (C) 0.05-0.5 pt.wt., per 100 pts.wt. of the total of components A and B, of a higher fatty acid metal salt, where the melt index [MFR (0)] measured at 230 deg.C under the pressure of 5000g gives 3-200g/10min, the melt index measured under the same condition, after heat treatment at 220 deg.C for 300 minutes, [MFR (300)] satisfies the relationship of formula I and, when MFR (0) is 3-200g/10min., the number of the fatty acid metal salt is represented by (A) and the number of carboxyl terminals by (B), A and B satisfy the relationship of formula II.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a new polyarylene sulfide sulfone polymer of excellent heat resistance. CONSTITUTION:A polyarylene sulfide sulfone of a melt viscosity of 0.20-0.60, obtained by reacting an aromatic dihalosulfone with a bisphenol fluorene, an alkali metal salt and a source of sulfur. An aromatic dihalosulfone is reacted with bisphenol fluorene in a molar ratio of 99/1-60/40 in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide or an alkyl metal salt in an organic amide solvent and/or an organic sulfone solvent to form an oligomer containing halogen atoms at both ends. A least one source of sulfur selected from among an alkali metal sulfide, an alkali metal hydrosulfide and hydrogen sulfide is added to the reaction mixture and reacted with the oligomer at 175-235 deg.C for 1-20hr. Thus, a resin having a high glass transition temperature and excellent heat decomposition resistance can be obtained. This process is industrially advantageous in that a polymer having a high glass transition temperature which can be varied can be obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide the title resin composition excellent in flow during molding, and stability during residence, and giving a molding excellent in flame retardancy, tensile strength, etc., by mixing an aromatic polyester resin with a specified epoxy compound and an organobromine compound in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. aromatic polyester resin composition (A) (e.g., polyethylene terephthalate) is mixed with 0.01-10pts.wt. epoxy compound (B) of formula I (wherein Ar is a 6-20C aromatic group or an alicyclic group, and n is 0 or 1-20), e.g., formula II or III, and 1n50pts.wt. organobromine compound (C) (e.g., hexabromobenzene or brominated polycarbonate) to produce a flame- retarding aromatic polyester resin composition. The obtained resin composition can be easily molded by a process such as injection molding or extrusion molding, and it is excellent in hydrolysis resistance, etc., and can be desirably used as, e.g., the parts of automobile electric equipment.
