Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tufted carpet which has outstanding thermal conductivity and excellent drape/feeling as a carpet for floor heating as well as a method for manufacturing a tufted carpet. SOLUTION: The tufted carpet is made up of a fiber which has an apparent pile density of 130 kg/m or more and 250 kg/m or less and the degree of fineness of a single yarn of 8d or less represented by 80% or more of the pile- constituting fiber, and a heat transmission resistance value in the thickness direction of 0.20 m /hr deg.C/kcal or less. The method for manufacturing the tufted carpet is to apply to twist of 0-150 T/m to a crimped yarn with the degree of fineness of a single yarn of 8d or less and an extensibility (after) of 8% or more, then perform a thermal treatment to the yarn at 80-130 deg.C under tension of 0.01-0.15 g/d and use the crimped yarn at 80% or more of the total pile. Further, this crimped yarn is tufted to the height of 3 mm or more and 9 mm or less, and then is backed in such a manner that the total thickness of a lining material including a basic fiber and a backing material is 2.5 mm or less.

CONSTITUTION: The polyester crimped yarn for a carpet comprises polyester multifilaments having a crimp elongation of >=15% and a total fineness of 500-5000 denier and comprising the aggregation of hollow cross section monofilaments produced by melt-spinning a polyester in which >=90mol% of the whole repeating units of the molecular chain are ethylene terephthalate units and which has an intrinsic viscosity of >=0.65, wherein the hollow cross section monofilament has a thickness (d) of >=3μm between the outer outline A and the hollow part outline B. The polyester crimped yarn is used as face yarn.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain polyester crimped yarn for carpets capable of producing a carpet excellent in durability used flexibility and having soft touch and to provide a tufting carpet made of the polyester crimped yarns as face yarn and having excellent characteristics for living use and reuse easiness after use. CONSTITUTION: This polyester crimped yarn for carpets consists of polyester multifilaments, a bulk of flat cross section fibers, having 4-15 monofilament denier and 500-5000 total denier and obtained by melt spinning a polyester comprising ethylene terephthalate unit accounting for >=90% of all repeating units in a molecular chain and having >=0.65 intrinsic viscosity. The degree of flatness of the flat cross section fiber is preferably 2-6. The crimp extensibility of the polyester multifilaments is preferably 3-20%. This polyester crimped yarn is used for carpets as its face yarn.
