Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crimped yarn which can given a carpet having a good contrast and a moire-tone pattern, to provide a method for efficiently producing the crimped yarn, and to obtain a carpet which uses the crimped yarns and has a uniform and excellent moire-tone pattern. SOLUTION: This crimped yarn in which each of single filaments constituting the multi-filament is a crimped filament that irregularly and continuously changes into thick portions/thin potions in the filament axial direction, satisfies the following requirements (1) to (3). (1) The number of peaks having changed of >=5% read from a chart measured with a Uster irregularity tester is 1 to 20.0 peaks/m of the filament length. (2) The fineness of the single filament is 10 to 45 dtex. (3) The elongation of the filament is 5 to 30% after a 98 deg.C×5 min boiling water treatment under a non-loaded condition. The method for producing the same is also provided.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible and soft texture superior in durability, color fastness, and a covering property. SOLUTION: In a car seat cover which comprises front yarns, a base fabric whose front yarns are tufted, and a packing material stuck to the back of this base fabric, the front yarns are composed of a lot of filaments having noncircular cross section whose single fiber fineness is 4-7d and deformation degree is 2-6 and formed of polyester multifilament bulky crimped yarns whose total fineness is 500-5000D and crimp extension rate is 3-15%. The noncircular cross-sectional filaments are desirable to contain colorant of 2.0wt.% or less. To be used for recycling, it is desirable that all of the front yarns, the base fabric, the packing material, and a sewing thread are substantially composed of polyester.

CONSTITUTION: The polyester crimped yarn for a carpet comprises polyester multifilaments having a crimp elongation of >=15% and a total fineness of 500-5000 denier and comprising the aggregation of hollow cross section monofilaments produced by melt-spinning a polyester in which >=90mol% of the whole repeating units of the molecular chain are ethylene terephthalate units and which has an intrinsic viscosity of >=0.65, wherein the hollow cross section monofilament has a thickness (d) of >=3μm between the outer outline A and the hollow part outline B. The polyester crimped yarn is used as face yarn.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To obtain polyester crimped yarn for carpets capable of producing a carpet excellent in durability used flexibility and having soft touch and to provide a tufting carpet made of the polyester crimped yarns as face yarn and having excellent characteristics for living use and reuse easiness after use. CONSTITUTION: This polyester crimped yarn for carpets consists of polyester multifilaments, a bulk of flat cross section fibers, having 4-15 monofilament denier and 500-5000 total denier and obtained by melt spinning a polyester comprising ethylene terephthalate unit accounting for >=90% of all repeating units in a molecular chain and having >=0.65 intrinsic viscosity. The degree of flatness of the flat cross section fiber is preferably 2-6. The crimp extensibility of the polyester multifilaments is preferably 3-20%. This polyester crimped yarn is used for carpets as its face yarn.
