    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a film having excellent resistance to signal dropout and containing a specified amount of aluminum silicate particles having a specified mean particle diameter and a specified or smaller relative standard deviation of particle diameters. SOLUTION: There is provided a biaxially oriented polyester film containing 0.01-3 wt.% aluminm silicate particles having a mean particle diameter of 0.01-1.0 μm and a relative standard deviation of particle diameters of 0.5 or below and having a thermal shrinkage (80 deg.C×30 min) of 0.8% or below and a thickness of 0.01-3.0 μm. This film has 3,000/mm or above surface protrusions, a relative standard deviation of protrusion heights of 0.6 or below and a thickness 0.2 to 10 times the mean particle diameter d of the aluminum silicate particles and is obtained by extruding pellets containing a specified amount of the particles from a melt extruder, solidifying the extrudate by cooling on a roll to form an unoriented film, heating the film once to the glass transition temperature or higher, lowering its temperature, orienting it at 80-180 deg.C at ratios of 3.0-6.0 in the directions of length and width, and heat-treating it at 170-220 deg.C for 0.5-60 sec.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the uniform formation of microprojections of the surface of a film and, at the same time, the remarkable improvement of the wear resis tance of its surface and, in addition, the remarkable improvements of both the film rolled form and output characteristics conventionally regarded as incom patible. SOLUTION: This biaxially oriented laminated polyester film is one, in which a layer A mainly made of polyester A is laminated onto at least one side of a layer B mainly made of polyester B. The projections on the surface of the layer A are ones due to crystals. The centerline mean roughness Ra of the surface of the layer A is below 50 nm At the same time, the relationship between the degree of orientation fn of the surface of the layer A and its Ra (nm) satisfies the inequality: Ra+160 fn>=40.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film hard to generate surface damage (scratch resistance), low in the coefficient of friction under a high temp. and high pressure condition and reduced in the lowering of image quality (S/N) caused by dubbing (dubbing resistance). SOLUTION: A biaxially oriented thermoplastic resin film is obtained by laminating a thermoplastic resin film based on a thermoplastic resin A and inert particles and characterized by that the average particle size of the inert particles contained in the film is 0.1-10 times the thickness of the film, the particle size ratio of the particles is 1.0-1.3, relative standard deviation is 0.6 or less, the content of the particles is 0.5-15wt.%, a lamination thickness is 0.005-3μm and the coefficient of friction is 0.35 or less on the single surface of a film based on a thermoplastic resin B and this film has the modulus of elasticity of 350kg/mm or more in its longitudinal and lateral directions.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film which is excellent in shaving resistance by a method wherein a protrusion of a uniform height is formed in high density on a surface. SOLUTION: In a biaxially oriented polyester film wherein a film having a polyester A and a particle as main constituents is laminated on at least one side of a film having a polyester B as a main constituent, the thickness of the laminated film of the polyester A is 0.005-3μm, the mean particle size of particles contained in the laminated film is 0.1-10 times the thickness of the laminated film, the content of particles contained in the laminated film is under 0.5wt.%, and an intrinsic viscosity of a laminated film layer composition of the polyester A is larger than that of the base film layer composition of the polyester B.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress generation of voids to form projections hard to rub off to obtain a surface form superior in marr resistance by a method wherein fine projections are uniformly formed on the surface of a film by using a crystallization of the a polyeser without relying on contained particles. CONSTITUTION:A laminated polyester film is a biaxially oriented film formed by laminating a layer A mainly composed of a polyester A on at least one surface of a layer B mainly composed of a polyester B. A difference of a crystallization parameter DELTATcg between the polyester A and the polyester B is determined to be at least 20 deg.C or more. A difference of a crystalline parameter between the layer A and the layer 8 by a Raman spectral method is determined to be 0.5 or less. Surface projections are intrinsically formed by using a crystallization of the polyester A per se without incorporating particles.
