Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a uniform coating thickness by providing cross guider means at both end of a plastic film in transverse direction just after coating. CONSTITUTION:A plastic film 11 delivered from nip rolls 12a, 12b is expanded in both transverse direction by cross guider means 20a, 20b and fed to a coating roll 13 in a state of tension. At the coating roll 13, a coating agent 16 with predetermined thickness is applied uniformly over the surface of the plastic film 11 by means of a gravure roll 14 adjacent to the coating roll 13. And the film 11 is stretched forcibly in the transverse direction by cross guider means 18a, 18b so that the film 11 keeps a state of tension. As a result, a tight film with neither wrinkles nor sags which has a uniform coating layer is obtained.
