    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent flaw or foreign-matter-engagement from occurring in a winding process and to provide good winding quality, by winding a film that does not substantially contain any particle with average grain size more than a specific value, with specific bearing and tension, under an atmosphere where content of dust having a specific grain size is a specific value. SOLUTION: For winding a polyester-based film adequate for a floppy disk, the film with thickness from 0.1 to 500 μm that does not substantially contain any particle with average grain size more than 3 μm with 1-100 kg/m bearing and 5-150 kg/m tension under an atmosphere where content of dust having 2 μm or more grain size is less than 5000/ft3, preferably less than 500/ft3. Additionally, preferably, an average face roughness of at leant one surface of the polyester-based film is less than 50 nm. The film surface is coated with water soluble or water dispersible resin such as acryl-base or polyester-base as a coating agent.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a film wherein defects on the film surface such as damages generated in longitudinal drawing can be prevented from increasing with time. SOLUTION: A method for preparing a polyester film wherein a polyester film containing substantially no inorganic particle with a particle diameter of at least 3 μm with a thickness of at least 1 μm and at most 10 μm is drawn in the longitudinal direction by a draw ratio of 1.12-8 under an atmosphere with dust with a particle diameter of at least 2 μm of at most 5,000/ft3 and a high capacity floppy disc and an optical film using it, are provided.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of a curl attendant on a habit of winding to improve a flatness by setting a difference of a birefringence ratio between the top and rear surface of a film to a specific value. CONSTITUTION:A difference of a birefringence ratio (DELTAn) between the top and rear surface of a film is set to be not less than 3X10 . By winding the film with the surface of a small birefringence ratio inside, the film can be flat without a habit of winding in the longitudinal direction of the film at the time of secondary processing even when the film is supplied in a roll form as a primary product. In the method of producing the film, a difference of a birefringence ratio can be obtained by forcibly giving a temperature difference to the top and rear surfaces in any of an extrusion process, a casting and longitudinally orienting process, and a thermally fixing process, on the contrary by giving a cooling speed difference to the top and rear surface of the film, or alternatively by laminating polymers of different kinds by a co-extrusion system and using a difference of a crystallization speed between the both. For example, a material is extruded in a sheet form, one surface is cooled and set at a cooling speed of 10 deg.C/sec or more on a 10-40 deg.C casting drum, the other surface opposite to the casting drum is cooled by air, and the film is oriented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance handling properties, winding characteristics and output characteristics, in a biaxially oriented laminated polyester film for a high density magnetic recording medium or the like, by specifying the surface characteristics of the film so that the single surface thereof is set to a magnetic surface at the time of use as a magnetic recording medium and the other single surface is set to a running surface. CONSTITUTION:In a biaxially oriented laminated polyester film composed of laminated constitution of at least two or more layers, the outermost layers A, B thereof are formed so as to satisfy specific conditions such that the layer A contains spherical particles with an average particle diameter of 0.05-0.5mum and is characterized by that the number of the coarse projections with H3 or more is 5/100cm or less, and three-dimensional surface roughness(SRa) is 10nm or less and the layer B contains spherical particles with an average particle diameter of 0.1-1.0mum and is characterized by that three-dimensional surface roughness is 10-40nm and the ratio tB/dB of thickness tB and the average particle diameter dB is 0.2-10 and a calender shaping index is 200/m or less. Further, the total thickness of the laminated film is set to 10mum or less and the F-5 value in the longitudinal direction thereof is set to 14kg/mm or greater.
