Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a resin compsn. having excellent rigidity, moldability, resistance to heat and water, etc., by mixing a resin consisting of a polyphenylene ether and a thermoplastic polyester with a compd. having a specified structure. CONSTITUTION:5-95wt% polyphenylene ether having the formula (wherein Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 are each H, halogen, hydrocarbon, halohydrocarbon, hydrocarbonoxy or halohydrocarbonoxy; and n is a number of not smaller than 20) is mixed with 95-5wt% thermoplastic polyester. 100pts.wt resulting resin is mixed with 0.1-20pts.wt. compd. having at least one group selected from the group consisting of carboxyl, acid anhydride, acid amide, imide, carboxylic ester, epoxy, amino and hydroxyl groups to obtain the desired resin compsn. Examples of the compd. to be blended are maleic anhydride, acrylamide, etc.
