    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent degradation in the focusing characteristic generated when a leakage current flows to a dividing resistor. CONSTITUTION:A color image receiving tube has an electron gun composed of a focusing electrode G5 in which main lens parts are serially arranged in the phosphor screen direction, one or plural intermediate electrodes Gm1 and Gm2, and a final accelerator electrode G6 to which an anode voltage is applied. The anode voltage is divided into specific voltages by means of a dividing resistor and the specific voltages are supplied to the intermediate electrodes Gm1 and Gm2 from an intermediate terminal part. In this color image receiving tube, plural dividing resistors 27a and 27b are provided, and connection resistors 43a, 43b, and 45a, and 45c are interposed between the intermediate terminal port and the intermediate electrode of each dividing resistor. The direction of each dividing resistor from the intermediate electrode is defined as the direction of the positive current flow, and rectifiers 44a, 44b, 46a, and 46b are interposed in parallel to the connection resistors between the intermediate terminal port of each dividing resistor and the intermediate electrode.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a cathode ray tube with a capacitor free from creeping discharge by a relatively simple means, by giving a special structure to the capacitor connected to at least one electrode of a main lens excluding an electrode to which dynamic focus voltage is applied. CONSTITUTION:A cathode ray tube provided with an electron gun is such that dynamic focus voltage in synchronization with a deflection current flowing in a deflecting yoke is applied to one of electrodes constituting a main lens and a capacitor 34 to bypass AC voltage components induced by applying the dynamic focus voltage is connected to at least one electrode Gm1 excluding an electrode G5 to which this voltage is applied. The capacitor 34 consists of a dielectric 43 and thin film electrodes 44, 45 opposed each other across the dielectric 43. The dielectric 43 is formed with a portion not placed between the thin film electrodes 44, 45 thicker than a portion placed between the thin film electrodes 44, 45 (t1>t2).

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve image dissection of a central part and a peripheral part of a faceplate by locating a focusing electrode, multiple intermediate electrodes, a final accelerating electrode in order from an electron beam generating unit side to a target direction to form an electron gun, and dividing the high voltage to be supplied to the final accelerating electrode with a resistor to supply a predetermined voltage to the intermediate electrodes. CONSTITUTION:In an electron gun 26, a resistor 32 is located, and one end of the resistor 32 is connected to a sixth electrode G6, and the other end thereof is grounded through a stem pin 34 passing through a stem 33, which seals a neck end of a color image receiving tube, and through a variable resistor 35 outside of the tube, and intermediate parts thereof are connected to two intermediate electrodes Gm1, Gm2. In the electron gun 26, the voltage lower than that of the intermediate electrode Gm2 of the sixth electrode G6 side is applied to the intermediate electrode Gm1 of a fifth electrode G5 side to form a focusing electric field near the intermediate electrode Gm1. Furthermore, a curvature in the vertical direction is large in the intermediate electrode Gm1, and electron beams receive the focusing work relatively strong in the vertical direction near the intermediate electrode Gm1. Consequently, when the electron gun 26 is used to form a color image receiving tube, a beam spot 4a on the central part of the faceplate 3 can be formed nearly circular.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain good resolution at the periphery of a display screen by specifying the ratio between opening diameters in the first and second directions of the first and second electrodes and the ratio between opening diameters in the second and first directions of intermediate electrodes respectively. CONSTITUTION:The ratio between opening diameters in the first direction and the second direction of the first electrode 10 and the second electrode 20 is set larger than 1.05 and smaller than 1.3, and the ratio between opening diameters in the second direction and the first direction of intermediate electrodes 70 and 80 is set larger than 1.05 and smaller than 1.3. Beams are focused in the state sufficiently near a true circle at various places on a screen, and strong focusing and diverging actions in the vertical direction are obtained. Electron beams can easily be radiated in the state near a true circle not only at the center section of the display screen but also at the periphery of the display screen with a simple structure.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve resolution at the peripheral part of the faceplate by providing non-circular openings with horizontal major axes in a cylindrical electrode to which low potential is applied and a cylindrical electrode to which high potential is applied at the positions at predetermined distances from their facing ends. CONSTITUTION:A first electrode 1, a second electrode 2, a third electrode 3, a fourth electrode 4 are arranged in this order in the cathode and fixed by insulating supports. The electrode 1 and 2 are formed in this plate shape, and the electrode 3 and 4 are formed in cylindrical shape. A plate member 31 is fixed in the electrode 3 at the position at a predetermined distance from the open end thereof facing the electrode 4, and a non-circular opening 32 with a horizontal major axis is provided in this plate member 31. A plate member 41 is fixed in the electrode 4 at the position at a predetermined distance from the open end thereof facing the electrode 3, and a non-circular opening 42 with a horizontal major axis is provided in this plate member 41. In this way, the resolution at the peripheral part of the faceplate can be improved without sacrificing the resolution at the central part of the faceplate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the resolution in peripheral zones of a screen without sacrificing the resolution in the middle of the screen by furnishing a non-circular aperture for one electron beam or common to a plurality of electron beams on the side facing each intermediate electrode of a focusing electrode and a final accelerating electrode. CONSTITUTION:No.2 and No.3 electrode 20, 30 constitute a prefocusing lens, and No.3-5 electrodes 30, 40, 50 constitute an aux. lens, and further No.5 electrode 50, intermediate electrodes 70, 80, and No.6 electrode 60 constitute a main lens. Thus an electron beam is focused on a screen. A non-circular aperture 541, for ex. in long hole, common to three electron beams is bored in a cup-shaped electrode 54. The No.6 electrode 60 has been formed by butting the open ends of two cup-shaped electrodes 61, 62, and a non-circular aperture 611, for ex. in a long hole, common to three electron beams is bored in the cup-shaped electrode 61 facing the intermediate electrode 80, while three apertures with greater dia. are bored in the other cup-shaped electrode 62. Thereby the resolution in the peripheral zones can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain high resolution on the whole central and peripheral parts of a screen, by forming groove-shaped parts in a pair of electrodes which form a prefocused lens and next by disposing a pair of plate members inside a focusing electrode to vary a voltage applied to the focusing electrode. CONSTITUTION:In a prefocused lens part, recessed parts 330 are disposed on facing surfaces of electrodes 20, 31 so that an asymmetrical lens is formed to focus electron beams vertically on an under-focusing state. Further in a main lens part, a pair of plate members 50 are disposed to be parallel horizontally and facing vertically to each other inside a focusing electrode 30 so that an asymmetrical lens is formed to strongly focus the electron beams vertically. Next a focusing voltage is raised synchronizing with deflection of the electron beams. Since the electron beams are thus kept vertically on the under focusing state, distorted deflection due to vertically strong focusing actions can be reduced, so that high resolution can be obtained on the whole central and peripheral parts of the screen.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a long focus lense with a preferable focussing property as a main lense portion by providing the intermediate electrodes of the main lense portion in such a way as to be made eccentric to the adjacent electrode or inclined at the faced surface thereof in two points which are positioned between an intermediate electrode adjacent to the first electrode and the second electrode, or one point which is positioned at either of spaces between plural intermediate electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Between the first electrode 43 to which a low voltage is applied and the second electrode 46 to which a high voltage is applied, plural intermediate electrodes 44, 45 to which intermediate voltages are applied are arranged and a voltage applying means 56 to the first electrode 43 is provided independently of a voltage applying means to the intermediate electrodes 44, 45. The plural intermediate electrodes 44, 45 are made to be eccentric or inclined at the faced surfaces thereof, at two points which are positioned between the intermediate electrode 44 adjacent to the first electrode 43 and the second electrode 46 or one point which is positioned at either of spaces between plural intermediate electrodes 44, 45. Therefore, it is possible to obtain a long focus lense with a preferable focussing property as a main lense portion and the change in the focussing voltage of the first electrode 43 is made not to effect the focussing of electron beams.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a high resolution to be obtained throughout a whole area of a fluorescent screen by arranging an auxiliary lense part in which a circular electron beam passage aperture is formed to the first and third grid electrodes, and a nonaxisymmetric electron beam passage aperture to the second grid electrode. CONSTITUTION:At least the first, second, and third grid electrodes 15, 16, and 17 are arranged between an electron beam emission source and a main lense part 20. And circular electron beam passage aperture 15a, 15b, 15c, 17a, 17b, and 17c are formed into both sides first and third grid electrodes 15 and 17 to which a prescribed focusing voltage is applied. An auxiliary lense part to which nonaxisymmetric electron beam passage aperture 16a, 16b, and 16c are formed is arranged to the middle second grid electrode 16 to which a dynamic voltage gradually descending or ascending from the prescribed focusing voltage following an increase of an electron beam deflection quantity is applied. This enables a resolution of a whole fluorescent screen to be improved with the brightness difference between the peripheral part and the middle part of the fluorescent screen and an increase of a beam spot diameter eliminated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a creeping discharge, make a spark hard to occur, and prevent thermal destruction from occurring by ruggedly forming the surface of an insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:An electrode takeoff section 52a is arranged on a rectangular, thin ceramic substrate 51, next a resistance material 53 is arranged in a zigzag pattern, and this resistance material 53 is coated with an insulating material 54 such as glass. In this case, portions to be protruded are thickly coated. The resistance material is patterned with the electrode takeoff section and resistance material pattern using a mask and is sintered at about 800 deg.C, next it is patterned with a glass material once using a mask, and further the portion to be protruded is patterned with the glass material twice or three times using a different mask, and the glass material is again sintered at about 500 deg.C to form such resistance material. A resistor thus formed is corrugated in its longitudinal direction and is surrounded in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.
