본 발명은 유량 가변형 바이패스 유로를 구비하여 경도성 물질의 제거율 조절이 가능한 필터 어셈블리에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따른 유량 가변형 바이패스 유로를 구비하여 경도성 물질의 제거율 조절이 가능한 필터 어셈블리는, 수직으로 돌출되는 원수유입관(111) 둘레를 바이패스 유로관(112)과 출수관(113)이 순차적으로 단차구조를 가지며 둘러싸는 형태로 형성되는 덮개부(110)를 상측에 구비하며 내부에 필터체를 수용하는 필터부(100); 및 상기 필터부(100)의 덮개부(110)가 하부로 수용되며, 상기 바이패스 유로관(112)에 유입되는 원수의 유입량을 조절할 수 있는 바이패스 유량 제어수단(300)을 구비하는 필터카트리지 헤더(200);를 구비할 수 있다. 따라서, 본 발명은, 필터카트리지 헤더에 유량 가변형 바이패스 유로를 형성하고 필터부의 내부에 경도 제거 필터와 염소 제거 필터를 순차적으로 통과하기 위하여 기본으로 구성되는 유로외에 상기 바이패스 유로와 대응되어 경도 제거 필터를 거치지 않고 염소 제거 필터를 직접 통과하는 유로를 추가로 형성하여 원수중에 포함된 Ca 이온, Mg 이온 등 경도성 물질의 함유량을 조절할 수 있는 필터 어셈블리를 제공하는 효과가 있다.

A modular filter system using replaceable filter cartridges includes a locking arrangement that prevents rotation of the flow control valve spindle in the filter head, but includes an unlocking arrangement on the cartridge that unlocks the locking arrangement if the proper replacement cartridge is used. The locking arrangement may include spring biased locking pins carried on the filter head and matching unlocking pins on the filter cartridge to operate through an intermediate adaptor ring that is set on assembly to match the positions of the locking and unlocking pins.

A rotary valve (200) for directing fluid streams which has a circular stationary head (400) having at least one and desirably multiple primary ports for connection with fluid streams at least one secondary port. The stationary head includes a number of first circular concentric channels (411) formed therein and at least one second concentric channel (412). The first and second channels are associated with the primary and secondary ports, respectively. A rotatable head (500) is provided having radial chambers, each having a first and second port for connection between a first channel and a secondary port. The rotatable head rotates against the stationary head and channels in a fluid sealed manner. An indexable drive (900) rotates the rotatable head to interconnect predetermined primary channels and secondary ports. The timing of rotation can be continuous or intermittent depending upon the associated process of the fluid streams.

A valve apparatus is constituted by a linear stack of valve housings (19) so that the axes of the respective balls (23) are co-axial. The ball chambers (21) are interconnected by passages (20) for receiving drive shafts (24) to locate in slots (27) in the respective balls (23). This arrangement enables a single actuator to be used to drive the uppermost ball in the stack, which in turn, drives the successive balls via the balls themselves. In an alternative arrangement, the balls (23), or corresponding valve elements may be formed as an integral body, or at least be fixed one to the other.

A floor mounted de-watering spin chamber is connected with a kitchen disposer-grinder for de-watering and collecting ground food scraps that are suitable for garden composts. The spin chamber contains a perforated rotary spin basket and has a rigid lid with a rigid inlet tube insertable in a rigid body so that only one latch is necessary to hold the lid securely on the spin chamber. A diverter valve operated by a manual knob controls the discharge of water and solid material from the disposer-grinder selectively through the spin chamber or a drainpipe and the knob also controls a switch for an electric motor driving the spin basket. The drain pipe may also receive water and solid material from a second sink which is not equipped with a disposer-grinder and which material is not treated by the present apparatus, a baffle in a pipe connection fitting preventing such material from backing up into the spin chamber.

Reverse osmosis filtration systems that are self contained and easily converted from above the counter use to below the counter use. The systems feature a simple construction, including a two piece manifold assembly to which filters, including a reverse osmosis filter, a product water storage tank and a control valve connect, all without separate fasteners. The manifold assembly provides all water connections within the system, and includes connections to connect to a water supply, a drain, two dispensers and to an auxiliary water storage tank. The system pressurizes squeeze water for product water dispensing, providing maximum efficiency, maximum storage capacity for a given tank size and maximum pressure for dispensing product water. Various embodiments are disclosed.

The present invention relates to a method of treating fabric suitable for manufacturing filter bags, the method including the step of: applying a coating material to the fabric configured as seamless tubing to form a coating of said coating material on an outside surface of the seamless tubing, thereby improving the filtering characteristics of the fabric.

A water filtering system as in Fig. 1, for connection to at least one water supply to be filtered including a filter tank (18) containing cartridge-type filter media (46) of Fig. 2, with the tank being especially configured to provide an evenly distributed water flow through the filter media (46) for efficient water filtration. The sytem further includes a special plumbing system as in Figs. 1 and 4 and controls as in Fig. 4-6 therefore for establishing a two stage filter cleaning operation wherein water is impingingly directed onto the filter media (46) for flushing of the filter media (46) and the filter tank (18) in the first stage of the filter cleaning operation and water is directed through the filter media (46) in a backwash direction in the second stage of the filter cleaning operation.
