    Abstract: A system, in certain embodiments, includes a sheet roller configured to feed a sheet along a path, a liquid supply, and a pneumatic supply. The system also includes multiple nozzles coupled to the liquid supply and the pneumatic supply, where each nozzle is configured to pneumatically atomize liquid in a spray zone along the path of the sheet.     Abstract: A nozzle and aircap for spray guns is described comprising a nozzle with a screw-threaded end for threaded engagement with to a spray gun. The front of the nozzle has a shoulder with a hexagonal central boss and eight holes forming passages for air passing through the spray gun. The boss tapers to a projecting fluid discharge end of the nozzle with a radius measuring 0.117 inch (2.971 mm). The discharge end extends with a straight parallel nozzle outlet for a distance of 0.0311 inch (0.787 mm). The discharge outlet of the nozzle is spaced rearwardly from the leading face of the aircap (0.1533 mm), and a central aperture is chamfered toward the leading face of the aircap and has an axial depth of 0.021 inches (0.533 mm).

    Abstract: A fluid tip for use with a spray gun. The fluid tip comprises an air cap and a paint nozzle. The air cap comprises an inner surface 206 and the paint nozzle comprises an outer surface 208. The inner and outer surfaces define sides of an air channel 203. The inner and outer surfaces are defined by contours, each contour terminating to form an air channel outlet 207 for discharging an air jet proximal a paint nozzle outlet of the paint nozzle. The contours are configured to provide a velocity profile 400 across the air channel outlet 207 of an air flow 401 through the air channel 203 in which velocities of air radially closer to the paint nozzle outlet are substantially higher than velocities radially further from the paint nozzle outlet.

    Abstract: A spray gun and a method for use thereof comprises a spray gun body, an air cap, a fluid spray nozzle having a fluid tip, a hollow needle, at least one air distribution channel for atomizing air, and at least one air distribution channel for fan air, wherein the fluid spray nozzle and the air cap are configured to direct an atomization airflow at an angle of 10 to 75 degrees, preferably 15 to 60 degrees, and more preferably of 30 to 45 degrees (relative to the coating composition jet) into composition jet, and the fluid spray nozzle and the air cap are configured to provide an atomizing air pressure to fan air pressure ratio (AA/FA) of 0.1 to 10, preferably 0.5 to 1.0, more preferably of 0.6 to 0.9, and still more preferably of 0.66 to 0.88.
