Abstract:
An electrode applicable in liquid crystal display (LCD), an array substrate, a display panel, and a display device are provided. The electrode applicable in LCD includes a plurality of electrode comb teeth with a slit therebetween, adjacent electrode comb teeth being connected to each other at one end of each comb tooth; the other ends of the adjacent electrode comb teeth forming an opening, at least one protrusion being provided between the adjacent electrode comb teeth at the opening end; and the protrusion being connected to the electrode comb tooth.
Abstract:
In summary, when the alignment layer aligns the adjacent liquid crystal molecules while producing the pretilt, the present invention basically forms a different pretilt of the alignment layer of the upper substrate or the alignment layer of the lower substrate, or basically forms a different pretilt of the alignment layer of the high gray subpixel and the alignment layer of the low gray subpixel in one pixel, and as a result, the visibility is improved in the sides (the upper side or the right and left sides).
Abstract:
This invention provides a post hole digger having a first, traverse pivot point, located on the lower section of two handle members, and a second, blade assembly pivot point located at the medial point of the blade assemblies. Because the first pivot point is a traverse pivot point, the handle members are only required to travel through a limited range of motion. Additionally, the second, blade assembly pivot point is preferably an offset pivot point. Thus, because the second, blade assembly pivot point is disposed at a medial point of the blade assemblies, the motion of the handle members, which are coupled to the upper ends of the blade assemblies, is reversed relative to the lower ends of the blade members.
Abstract:
An overall displacement tolerance applicable to each pixel tile in a plurality of pixel tiles to be used as parts of an image rendering surface is determined. Each pixel tile in the plurality of pixel tiles comprises a plurality of sub-pixels. Random displacements are generated in each pixel tile in the plurality of pixel tiles based on the overall displacement tolerance. The plurality of image rendering tiles with the random displacements are combined into the image rendering surface.
Abstract:
A Mach Zehnder (MZ) modulator (1) comprising a splitter (4) for splitting incident light in one wave guide (3) into two modulator arms (5,6) of the MZ and comprising a combiner (7) that combines light from the two arms {5,6) into an output mode, where electrodes (9,10) are present in connection with said arms (5,6) for changing the refractive index in said arms in order to modulate incident light so that the light is amplified or so that an extinction, due to interference between the light in the two arms, takes place. The invention is characterised in, that the splitter (4) is arranged to split incident light equally into the two arms (5,6) and in that a part (11) of one of the arms (5) between said electrode (9) and said combiner (7) is designed to cause an intentional loss of light in the wave guide (3), whereby a desired asymmetry in transmission of the two arms (5,6) occurs.
Abstract:
Moiré pattern intensity reduction in a pixellated display system (e.g. LCD). The system has a light source (20), a microstructured optical component (30), such as a prism sheet, and a display panel (40). The optical component has a plurality of (typically prismatic) microstructures (32), with a nominal pitch Pf . The display pixels (42) have a pitch Pp and exhibit a fill factor F which is the ratio of the (sub-)pixel (42a, b, c) aperture a to the pixel pitch Pp . By arranging Pp , Pf and F to satisfy the condition Pp F /Pf = m where m is an integer or an integer +/- 0.2, the intensity of the Moiré pattern produced by the display caused by the interaction of light directed to the display panel by the microstructured optical component can be arranged to be substantially zero. An alternative arrangement utilising a randomised prism pitch.
