There is disclosed a light guide for guiding light from a light source in a longitudinal direction and radiating the light to illuminate an object to be illuminated, which comprises a diffuser for diffusing the light from the light source along the longitudinal direction of the light guide, and a radiator for radiating the light diffused by the diffuser in a predetermined direction. By arranging the diffuser and the radiator so that a normal line passing through the center of the width of the diffuser is different from the predetermined direction at least in the vicinity of the light source when viewed in the longitudinal direction of the light guide, the illuminance distribution of the longitudinal direction of the light guide is uniformed.

A document scanning apparatus for scanning a document is provided. The document scanning apparatus includes an image sensor unit which irradiates an incident light towards the document and generates image data by sensing a reflected light reflected from the document, a supporting unit which supports the image sensor unit, a movement unit which moves the image sensor unit between a scanning position and a calibration position, a housing which houses the image sensor unit, the supporting unit, and the movement unit, a transparent plate which transmits the incident light and the reflected light, a calibration sheet which is attached to a surface of the transparent plate, which is exposed to outside and is positioned in an area including the calibration position, and a housing cover which is coupled to the housing and seals inside of the housing.

A lighting device includes a light source that illuminates an object of illumination, a reflecting member provided opposite the light source so as to direct a first part of illuminating light emitted therefrom to the object of illumination, and a light-blocking member provided between the light source and the object of illumination and between the reflecting member and the object of illumination. The light-blocking member blocks the first directed part of the illuminating light and a second part of the illuminating light directly illuminating the object of illumination with a certain ratio of a light-blocking rate for the first directed part of the illuminating light to a light-blocking rate for the second directly illuminating part of the illuminating light.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting unit for a luminaire having superior heat radiation performance. SOLUTION: The light-emitting unit comprises: a light-emitting element; a light-emitting element substrate for mounting the light-emitting element; a light-emitting element substrate frame material having an opening window for exposing the light-emitting element; and electrodes for feeding power to the light-emitting element. In this case, the light-emitting substrate is a metal, and the light-emitting element is mounted onto the light-emitting element substrate directly. Alternatively, the light-emitting element substrate is a metal, a metal oxide film is provided on the light-emitting element substrate, and the light-emitting element is mounted on the electrode formed on the metal oxide film. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device provided with a configuration of appropriating a luminous quantity balance between a light reflected in an auxiliary reflection mirror and a direct light from a light source so as to eliminate shade in the case of using the auxiliary reflection mirror. SOLUTION: In the lighting device provided with the light source 2 for illuminating an object of illumination O and a reflection member 4 located at a position opposed to the light source 2 and directing part of illumination light from the light source 2 to the object of illumination O, a light-blocking member 9 (9') is placed between the light source 2 and the object of illumination O (between the reflection member 4 and the object of illumination O), and the light-blocking members 9, 9' are characterized in to block the illumination light from the light source 2 and the illumination light from the reflection member 4 at a prescribed ratio.
