Abstract:
The invention provides a health device for automatically administering skin pressure-based therapies to a user. The device comprises one or more actuator members, each comprising a smart shape-changing material of a class which is disposed to change shape in response to a change in temperature or to the application of an electrical stimulus. The actuator members are controlled by a controller to apply pressure to one or more points on a user's skin.
Abstract:
A human body stretching massage apparatus is disclosed. The human body stretching massage apparatus comprises: a mattress for human body stretching, including a plurality of expanding regions to be filled with a filler material such that the mattress expands; a filler material supply device connected to the expanding regions through a connection member so as to inject the filler material into the expanding regions; and a control device for controlling an operation of the filler material supply device, wherein the plurality of expanding regions are arranged in a lengthwise direction of the mattress, and the filler material supply device selectively supplies the filler material to the plurality of expanding regions.
Abstract:
This unit has been designed to be applied within the area of physiotherapy and is applicable to both medical and athletic therapeutic programs to provide correction of the supporting-locomotive apparatus, in particular, the spine, and the nervous system to eliminate nervous overloads and fatigue. It was the principle inventive problem to design a unit for the correction of the supporting-locomotive apparatus through the sacrum and the skull that are its two principal segments, as well as for the reflex regulation by acting on bioactive body points, and for deep action on muscle-ligamentous system of the biomechanical key segments of the supporting-locomotive apparatus to eliminate tensions within those segments and to restore muscle balance.
Abstract:
A device for well-being and body care is described, comprising means adapted to drip a fluid onto the body of a person to be treated and means per collecting the fluid dripping from the body of the person, wherein such means, adapted to drip the fluid onto the body of the person to be treated, comprise a tank (2) connected, through a first duct (3), to a pump (4), the pump (4) being then connected, through a second duct (5), to percolating means (9, 14) adapted to delicately flow the fluid onto the body of the person to be treated.
Abstract:
A massage therapy device having a roller and detachable thermal cover is disclosed. The roller has a series of unique ridges that optimize the application of therapeutic pressure to portions of a user's body. The thermal cover contains thermal retention material that can be heated or cooled. When the thermal cover is detachably connected to the roller, thermal therapy can be applied to muscle and other tissue in conjunction with the pressure therapy applied with the ridges of the roller. The configuration, temperature, and pressure application angle of the device can be varied to maximize the versatility of the device and provide individualized treatment.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a practical method for treating atopic dermatitis. By subjecting patients suffering from atopic dermatitis to filtered temperature controlled laminar air flow disease symptoms have been significantly reduced and even removed. The velocity of the laminar air flow is balanced such that body convections are braked without the generation of draught.
Abstract:
An oral device includes an intraoral bolus simulator comprising an exterior surface and having an interior volume fillable with a fluid. An extraoral user interface extends from the bolus simulator, and can be used to locate or position the intraoral bolus simulator. In various embodiments, the fluid may be a gas or a liquid, or combinations thereof. In other embodiments, an oral device includes an extraoral handle, a shield connected to the handle, a tether extending from the shield, and a bolus simulator connected to the tether.
Abstract:
An improved apparatus and method of body contouring and skin conditioning for the treatment of conditions such as lymphoedema by producing vibrations in the subcutaneous layers of fat. The apparatus includes a cup which engages the patient's skin surface and a vacuum source which provides suction and a pulsating movement against the skin's surface, mimicking the movement of the lymphatic system and flushing out toxins, fat layers and trapped fluid from the area.
