Abstract:
A drive arrangement for a shaft has a module carried by the shaft and including a motor, a driven wheel and a drive wheel. The motor, gearbox and drive wheel are carried on a slider plate which can slide transverse to the axis of the shaft. A front plate is fixed transverse to the axis of the shaft. A Bowden cable has its sheath attached to the front plate, and its inner cable attached to the slider plate, so that manipulation of the Bowden cable at a remote location allows force to be applied between the plates either tightening the belt to apply drive from the motor to the shaft, or releasing tension in the belt, to disengage the drive.
Abstract:
A system for moving a door between open and closed positions to selectively allow access to an enclosed space. The system comprising a door, the door being slidably movable between a first closed position and a second open position, the door being operative to close an opening to an enclosed space, an actuator operative to initiate movement of the door from its first closed position toward its second open position, and a control unit, the control unit including a motor, the control unit being responsive to initial movement of the door and being operative to actuate the motor, the motor being selectively operative to slidingly move the door toward the open position in response to the initial door movement after the door has initially moved from its closed position
Abstract:
An emergency door of a vehicle composed such that a large space is not required outside the vehicle to open the door, ingress of rainwater is prevented even in a case the emergency door is mounted at curved profile of front face of leading car, the door can be opened easily with small force, and the door is supported rigidly and steadily with compact configuration. The interior of the door 14 and side part of front face of leading car 10b are connected pivotally by an upper arm 36, lower arm 31, and first link bar 40 so that a parallel linkage is composed, thereby enabling horizontal movement of the door. A stopper mechanism 43 is composed such that an end of a second link bar 48 is connecting pivotally to the first link bar 40, the bracket 46 having an oblong hole 44 is attached to a frame 26 of the carbody, a pin 50 fixed to the other end of the second link bar 48 is received in the oblong hole 44, and the door can be stopped at its full open position when the pin 50 contacts an end of the oblong hole 44.
Abstract:
A hinge buffer device includes a casing, a slide, a buffer and an adjustment. The casing comprises a first end, a second end, a pair of lugs, a threaded hole, and a sliding trough. The lugs are disposed at two sides of the first end of the casing. The threaded hole is formed at the second end of the casing. The sliding trough is located between the first end and the second end of the casing. The slide comprises a compartment, a pair of sliding sections at respective sides to be engaged with the sliding trough of the casing. The buffer is a cylinder to be mounted in the compartment of the slide. The buffer comprises a piston rod secured to the slide. The adjustment is connected to the slide, and comprises a bolt to be engaged with the threaded hole of the casing.
Abstract:
A window operator handle securable to a casement window operating drive shaft is described. The handle is movable between an operating position to a folded position The handle has a body housing that has a cavity which includes an operating mechanism. The operating mechanism has an assembly body secured to the housing, a pivotal member positioned in a first section of the assembly body and a sliding member positioned in at least a second portion of the assembly body. The pivotal member is adapted to pivot from a first position to a second position as the handle is moved from a first position to a second position. The pivotal member is held in one position and the other position by the sliding member. The sliding member is retained in contact with the pivotal member by a spring means in said assembly body.

Abstract:
An opening mechanism having a base, a lever member movably mounted to the base and a housing is disclosed. The lever member has a first arm and a second arm, which pivot from a first position to a second position,. The movement of the arms from a first position to a second position causes one of the arms to cause an article to move from a closed position to an open position.
Abstract:
A movable barrier operator (10) has a first disconnect mechanism (20) and a second disconnect mechanism (35) wherein either mechanism can be used to cause the output drive of the operator to be disengaged from the movable barrier to allow the movable barrier to be manually moved. In one embodiment, the second disconnect mechanism (35) is located distal to the operator itself such that the disengagement mechanism can be operated from an area external to the operator.
Abstract:
A drive arrangement (10) for a shaft (12), such as a shaft for driving a sectional door, roller shutter or the like, is in the form of a module, carried, in use, by the shaft (12) and including a motor (14), a driven wheel (16) fixed for rotation with the shaft (12) and drivable, in use, by the motor (14), and clutch means (18) and operable between the motor (14) and the wheel (16). The module further includes brace means (20) in the form of a limb attachable to a member which is fixed relative to the axis of the shaft (12), to brace the module against turning as the shaft (12) is driven.
Abstract:
An apparatus for shutting off power to a gate motor is disclosed when the gate to which the gate motor is connected is opened or closed manually. In a preferred embodiment a sensor is activated that immediately shuts off power to the gate motor upon insertion of a crank into a receptacle on a pulley of the power driven gate movement system to commence manual opening or closing of the gate with the crank. Rotation of the crank in the appropriate direction either opens or closes the gate. Power is restored to the gate motor when the sensor determines that the crank has been withdrawn from the pulley.
