Abstract: Thin impermeable, surface hardened, corrosion-resistant, durable, dry lubricant surface finishes are provided as well as surface finished products and methods for the production thereof. The surface finishes comprise particulate mixtures of sulfur containing metallic compounds and fluorocarbon polymers and are applied to surfaces of substrates such as metallic surfaces.

Abstract: A mandrel lubricant for use in the manufacture of seamless tubes is described, which mandrel lubricant is composed of graphite, clay minerals from the class of smectites, a polysaccharide and, if required, a surfactant. The mandrel lubricant is applied in the form of an aqueous dispersion to mandrels which have passed through the cooling bath.

Abstract: The invention relates to a release agent for metal components, in particular a transportation and assembly auxiliary in the powder coating (fluidised-bed sintering, electrostatic or electrokinetic coating) of reinforcement steel for silicate concretes. The invention intends to develop an inexpensive, readily adjustable release agent based on a water-soluble binder, whose adhesion to the metal is less than its adhesion to the coating, and which presents no health risk for people coming into contact with it and conforms to fire-prevention requirements. According to the invention this object is achieved by a homogeneous mixture comprising from 1.4 to 2.5 % by mass of cellulose-glycolic acid, from 44.0 to 52.5 % by mass of an inert inorganic powder such as slate powder, talc, chalk, and from 46.0 to 53.5 % by mass of water. The release agent according to the invention can be employed in general for the demoulding (removal from a mould of metal articles). Temperatures of up to 200@C have only a positive effect on the release process.
