Abstract:
An oven door hinge comprises a pair of engaging devices at respective sides of the door, having a recess at the middle of each engaging device. A plural lugs are formed inside of the door for receiving covers to form a gap. The top portion of the engaging device has a through hole for receiving a connecting unit. The connecting unit has a pin extending through a spring and into the gap of the door with a portion extending into the recess. The oven has a pair of posts extending from respective sides thereof. When mounting the door onto the oven, the pin is urged by the spring to retract so that the door may be moved to the gap and the recesses of the engaging devices will be engaged with the posts, respectively, and the pin extends into the recesses to secure the door on the oven.
Abstract:
A device for the swiveling movement of a sheet is described. A stationary bearing part supports an articulated part in a swivelable manner. The articulated part supports the sheet and is movable about a substantially horizontal swivel axis. The sheet is accordingly movable between a lowered position and a raised position, the direction of this movement being determined by a vertical swiveling plane. Energy accumulators, e.g., pneumatic springs, serve as auxiliary lifting means for raising the sheet. These energy accumulators have two connection ends which are loaded in opposite directions and determine the effective direction of force of the energy accumulator. For the purpose of an advantageous arrangement of the device which economizes on space, it is proposed that the energy accumulator be arranged with its effective direction of force substantially transverse to the swiveling plane of the sheet. The two connection ends of the energy accumulator are constructed as three-dimensionally acting rolling joints.
Abstract:
A gas spring is connected between a cabinet and a lift-top lid and releasably holds the lid upwardly in a fully open position with respect to the cabinet. Gravity automatically pivots a safety latch into latching relation with the cylinder of the gas spring as the lid approaches its fully open position. If the gas spring loses pressure, the latch operably engages the cylinder to mechanically hold the lid in its fully open position and to prevent the lid from falling toward its closed position.
Abstract:
A vessel (1) for impregnating water with carbon dioxide is pressure-tight and has inlets (4, 5) for water and carbon dioxide. Within the vessel, a cooling surface (9) is provided, connected to an external refrigeration circuit. Within the vessel and below the level of water, an underwater pump (15) is provided for producing a circulation of water inside the vessel. Carbon dioxide in finely divided form is introduced into the flowing water, preferably via the pump (15) for producing the water circulation. In use, an ice jacket (11 ) forms on the cooling surface (9).
Abstract:
A skylight, having a wing actuated by pneumatic springs, can be moved to an emergency opening position thereby substantially exposing the opening area of the skylight case. The skylight also acts as a residential ceiling or attic skylight which has, in the normal open position, a considerably smaller opening than in the emergency open position. A locking device is provided to restrict the long extension stroke of the piston rod of the pneumatic springs to a partial stroke. This partial stroke allows an opening which essentially corresponds to the standard opening of the wing in a residential skylight. The locking device, located on the cylinder of the pneumatic spring, includes a specially designed latch which, in order to effect partial stroke restriction of the piston rod, lockingly engages a stop located on the side of the case by means of a catch pin.
Abstract:
A gas spring-assisted counterbalance system for a closure member, e.g., the rear door of a hatchback automobile, includes a mechanical spring connected in series with a gas spring. The system is arranged so that the gas spring reaches its fully retracted position before the door is fully closed, after which the door is closed against the force of the mechanical spring. Longitudinal vibrations or short movements of the system which otherwise would impart undesired short stroke cycles to the gas spring are absorbed by the mechanical spring, thereby enhancing the operating lifetime of the gas spring.
Abstract:
A pair of spring-loaded oven door hinge mechanisms, mounted on a domestic range body and located at the lower corners of a counterbalancing oven door lock in a partially open position upon removal of the oven door to preclude accidental tripping of the non-counterbalanced hinge mechanisms. Reinstallation of the counterbalancing oven door unlocks the spring-loaded hinge mechanisms to permit normal oven door movement between open and closed positions. Each hinge mechanism includes a fixed roller normally engageable with a hinge blade projection to provide a broil position detent mechanism. The fixed roller snaps into a deep recess or notch in a movable hinge blade upon removal of the oven door to provide positive locking of the hinge blade to maintain the associated hinge mechanism in a partially open position, thereby facilitating oven door reinstallation.
