Abstract:
A threaded joint for steel pipe formed of a pin and a box having a contact surface including threaded parts and a non-threaded metal contact part and capable of stably assuring a seizure resistance and an airtightness without applying compound grease thereto, wherein a solid lubricating film formed with lubricating powder (example: molybdenum disulfide) and organic or inorganic binder is formed on the contact surface of at least one of the pin and box, the ratio of the area occupied by the secondary particles of 15 to 60 mu m in equi-area equivalent diameter of the lubricating powder in the cross section of the solid lubricating film in thickness direction is 5 to 90%, and fiber-like filler (example: inorganic substance whisker) in addition to the lubricating powder is mixed into the solid lubricating film at the mass ratio of the fiber-like filler to binder of 0.01 to 0.5, whereby, particularly, the seizure resistance at high temperatures can be improved.
Abstract:
A sliding material exhibiting excellent initial compatibility, excellent sliding characteristics even under severe sliding conditions, especially excellent frictional characteristics and wear resistance under fluid lubrication, boundary lubrication and dry lubrication, and having a solid state lubrication coating film. The sliding material having a solid state lubrication coating film on a planar basic material is characterized in that a plurality of concentric grooves are made in the circumferential direction on the sliding surface and a ridge is formed between adjacent grooves.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to lubricant compositions and can be used for treatment of friction units in different machines and mechanisms in manufacturing processes, the purpose of which is modification of friction surfaces. The basis of the invention is the improvement of lubricant composition, in which as the consequence of the additional use of thickener and wax, the viscosity of lubricant composition sufficient for conversation of uniform distribution of solid component in lubricant composition in broad temperature range is provided; and at the expense of that, the possibility of conservation of lubricant composition in any packaging and bulks, which are usable even under operating conditions of machines and mechanisms, is reached. The lubricant composition acquires the state of gel, that is convenient to put on any friction surface, to deposit on a zone of friction of any friction units. The lubricant composition ensures the receiving of engineering results similar to those, which solid components exhibit using fine-dispersed powder on basis of natural minerals from flaky silicates series and at the same time the sedimentation properties of lubricant composition permit its continuous conservation in broad temperature range without variation of lubrication and modification properties.
Abstract:
Iron-based metallurgical powder compositions are produced by mixing iron-based powder with an improved binder/lubricant that comprises dibasic organic acid and one or more additional components such as solid polyethers, liquid polyethers, and acrylic resin. These novel binder/lubricants impart one or more enhanced green properties to the powder compositions and reduce the ejection force required to remove the compositions from molds and dies.
Abstract:
A wax-based lubricant compounded for use as a bullet lubricant but also useful as an additive to greases and oils for general lubricating usage. The lubricant comprises a combination of petroleum and silicone oil metallic soap greases, beeswax and graphite and molybdenum disulfide.
Abstract:
A method of making an antifriction coating composition, comprising the steps of (A) combining (i) a solid lubricant, (ii) a solvent, (iii) a binder, and (iv) optionally, an additive; and (B) grinding the (i) solid lubricant in the solvent (ii) with a basket mill for sufficient time to form a dispersion of the ground (i) solid lubricant in the (ii) solvent, and wherein the binder (iii) and the optional additive (iv) are each independently combined with the solid lubricant (i) and solvent (ii) before, during, after, or a combination of two or more of before, during, and after, (B).
Abstract:
A solid lubricating coating film capable of imparting favorable lubricity and corrosion resistance to a connection for oil country tubular goods. Two or more solid lubricants are dispersed in a binder resin. Graphite is contained in an amount of 50% or more and 90% or less of a total weight of the solid lubricants, and the graphite has a scaly shape and an average particle diameter of 10.0 μm or less. A solid lubricant made of one or more materials selected from BN, mica, talc, MCA, MoS2, PTFE, PFA, and FEP is further contained as other solid lubricants of the two or more types of solid lubricants. The binder resin contains a PEEK resin having an average particle diameter of 20 μm or less as a main component, and the PEEK resin is contained in an amount of 70% or more of a total weight of the binder resin.
Abstract:
A lubrication method including lubricating a sliding member which contains at least one selected from the group consisting of a liquid crystal polymer and polyetheretherketone by using a lubricating oil composition which contains an ester as a lubricating base oil.
