Abstract: Provided is a preparation method for a double-layer working medium target tape with a plasma-enhanced interfacial bonding force for a micro laser thruster. Aiming at the problem that in an existing micro laser thruster, when a working medium is ablated by a laser beam, due to a weak interlayer interfacial bonding force between a transparent film substrate and the coating working medium, sputtering or bulging occurs, which remarkably reduces propulsive performance, a method for treating a surface of a transparent film substrate with a low-temperature plasma is used to increase surface energy of a film and an adhesive force of a working medium layer on a surface of the film, thereby enhancing the interlayer interfacial bonding force. According to the method in the present disclosure, the transparent film substrate is treated with the low-temperature plasma.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a moisture and oxygen barrier laminate with improved durability and flexibility. According to the present invention, there is provided a laminate, comprising: an inorganic barrier layer and a protective layer sequentially formed on one surface of a transparent substrate, wherein the protective layer includes an organic copolymer containing a repeating unit derived from a siloxane compound. The laminate according to the present invention can maintain excellent interlayer adhesion even when deformation such as bending is applied, thereby exhibiting excellent moisture and oxygen barrier properties.

in which R is a phosphine group substituted with alkyl, aryl, substituted alkyl, substituted aryl, heteroalkyl or any combination thereof. These materials maintained the ability to kill biofilm-forming bacteria even after being subject to abrasion processes, demonstrating the potential to serve as long-term antimicrobial materials.-

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an aqueous, one-pack coating composition including a polymer, a crosslinking agent, a polymeric surface-active agent, and an organic rheology control agent. The total solids content of the coating composition is from 7.5-11.5 wt.-%; the viscosity at 23° C. is from 2000-12000 mPas at a shear rate of 0.1 s-1¬; the amount of the polymeric surface-active agent is from 0.5-25 wt.-% based on the total solids content of the coating composition; the amount of the organic rheology control agent is from 5-12 wt.-% based on the total solids content of the coating composition; and the coating composition does not contain platelet-shaped particulate material having a median particle size of 2 μm or more. Further disclosed herein are methods of producing a coating and applying the coating with a device producing a coating composition jet, and substrates coated by the methods.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a photoacoustic ultrasound generator includes forming an uncured prepolymer polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film on a substrate, spraying a solution of light-absorbing nano-particles onto a surface of the uncured PDMS film, and then permeating and diffusing the light-absorbing nano-particles into the uncured PDMS film; and curing the uncured PDMS film containing the light-absorbing nano-particles distributed therein to form a composite film of nano-particles and PDMS.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a faux wood grain finish to plastic architectural plastic boards. The method employs a climate-controlled area for denibbing of boards to prepare a surface and a sprayer to achieve a desired depth of color. A wiper spreads the sprayed on material to form a faux grain finish which may include faux wood knots. The boards are directed through a combination infrared and convection oven having independent curing zones providing specific drying profiles. Once cured, the boards are cooled with forced air cool down fans and transferred into a climate-controlled area for applying a topcoat. The topcoat board is passed through an oven set to a defined temperature for curing and cooled down with forced air cool down fans before packaging and shipping.

Abstract: Functionalized copolymers of isoolefins and conjugated diolefins, methods of preparing the copolymers, and their use as compatibilizers are disclosed. The diolefin monomer units of the co-polymer are modified at the C═C double bond along the backbone of the copolymer to include an oxygen containing functional group such as epoxide, ester or alcohol. The functionalized copolymers improve the wettability of a non-hydrophilic surface towards hydrophilic polymer and allows for the formation of homogenous layers of the hydrophilic polymers. In particular, the spreading of a hydrophilic polymer on a non-hydrophilic substrate is facilitated by applying the co-polymers as an interfacial layer between the two incompatible materials. The resulting coated substrates exhibit resistance to protein adsorption and cell growth after grafting. The co-polymers are especially suited in the coating of biomedical devices where a high degree of uniformity of the coated surface is required.
