    Abstract: A rodless cylinder having a piston and an operation member slidable along the outer circumferential surface of a cylinder tube, each mounted with permanent magnets, and adapted to move the operation member along the cylinder tube by utilizing the attraction force between these permanent magnets, in which a plurality of individual magnets disposed axially to the cylinder in each of driving and driven magnet rows are arranged such that identical poles of the individual magnets are in adjacent to each other, and both of the driving and driven magnet rows are arranged such that the different poles of the individual magnets in each of the magnet rows are opposed to each other can provide a greater attraction force between the magnet rows with no changes in the size of the magnet and thereby reduce the size of the entire apparatus.

    Abstract: A multi-panel closure is disclosed in which a fastening member comprising a pair of integral back-to-back channels is positioned between the facing pair of edges of adjacent panels. The facing side sections of each channel grip the aforesaid edges between them. The panels are positioned so as to have at least one edge in alignment with each other. A split sleeve which is fastened to a rotatably supported closure post includes a pair of parallel flanges which receive the aligned panel edges therebetween and which are riveted to each panel along its aligned edge.

    Abstract: An automatic closure is disclosed which is adapted to block the flow of air through a door opening. The closure comprises a pliant curtain supported by its upper edge and by a portion of one side edge. The curtain includes a pocket which contains a bracing panel supported by the flanges of a pair of mutually perpendicular split sleeves. The sleeves are secured to a rotatable post, which normally assumes a preferred rotational position corresponding to the air-blocking position of the curtain in the door opening. The curtain, which also carries weights to facilitate its movement into and out of the latter position, is readily installed on, or removed from, its supporting structure.

    Abstract: An overhead door for the vertical opening of a truck trailer comprises a plurality of panels connected together by hinges, which extend the width of the panels and are confined within the panel. The panels, which are preferably formed of plastic, are counterbalanced by a spring, which is movable with the panels. The spring is wound by gears, which are connected thereto, cooperating with racks on the horizontal portions of the tracks on which the panels are movably supported.
