Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a brass-plated steel wire, capable of improving the service life and the wire drawability of a final die, which are problems in conventional techniques, to secure high adhesivity and high ductility, and further improving productivity, and to provide a steel cord and a tire that are obtained through the method. SOLUTION: The brass-plated steel wire is manufactured through a step of performing wet drawing by a multi-stage slip type wire drawing machine 10. The brass plating layer of the steel wire has two plating layers composed of a lower layer part and a surface layer part having a Cu content higher than that of the lower layer part. A steel cord for the reinforcement of thermoplastic elastomers, the steel cord including more than one strand, each strand including two or more steel filaments, at least some of said the steel filaments being provided with a zinc coating. The zinc coating has a thickness lower than two micrometer and an alloy layer zinc-steel is present between the zinc coating and the steel.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PC steel twisted wire capable of performing substantially semipermanent antirust as well as excellent high sustainability in comparison to the conventional PC steel twisted wire.SOLUTION: A PC steel twisted wire 10 comprises a synthetic resin coating on a circumferential surface for anticorrosive treatment. The PC steel twisted wire comprises a core wire 8 and a side wire 9, each element wire 1 is subjected to the wire drawing treatment followed by the plating treatment to form a plating layer. Each of the element wires is adjusted under the adjusting conditions (A) to (C) of wire diameter as below and then twisted together. The plating layer serves to cover the partial surface delamination of the synthetic resin coating formed on the circumferential surface or rust proof deficiency due to pinholes. The double rust-preventing PC steel twisted wire thus obtained has a tensile strength of 1850 N/mmor more.
