Abstract: A method and medical pump to perform a flushing procedure are provided. The medical pump is configured to execute the flushing procedure subsequent to an infusion procedure, the flushing procedure and infusion procedure lacking a specified relationship between each other until after performance of the infusion procedure. The method comprises performing an infusion procedure of a medicament with the medical pump and automatically querying in human detectable form whether to execute a flushing procedure in response to conclusion of the infusion procedure.

Abstract: To respond to a call from a client to an organization, the call is directed to a lower-level agent associated with the organization for answering thereby. The lower-level agent employs a computing system of the organization, where the computing system includes an actuation device for initiating contact with a higher-level agent of the organization if it is determined that the calling client is calling regarding a matter worthy of escalation from the lower-level agent to the higher-level agent. A selection from the lower-level agent is received during the call of the actuation device to escalate the call from the lower-level agent to the higher-level agent, and in response to the received selection of the actuation device the call is escalated from the lower-level agent to the higher level agent.

Abstract: A method for managing use of a disposable with an infusion pump is provided. The method can include adding validity information about a particular set of disposables to a list of disposables. Subsequent to adding the validity information, the method can include modifying the validity information about the particular set of disposables on the list of disposables. The method can include an infusion pump reading identifying information from a disposable, and can include determining whether the disposable is valid for use, based at least in part upon comparison of the identifying information read from the disposable by the infusion pump with the validity information about the particular set of disposables on the list of disposables. The method can also include the infusion pump making a determination of whether to deliver or not deliver an infusate based at least in part upon the determining whether the disposable is valid for use.

Abstract: A call center answers calls from callers reporting incidents and dispatch responders in response thereto. A computing system at the call center receives a particular call from a caller regarding a particular incident, and determines whether the particular call is an original call that is reporting the particular incident for a first time to the call center, or is a repetitive call that is reporting the particular incident after the original call for the particular incident has already been received by the call center. If an original call, the computing system forwards the particular call to an agent at the call center for further attention. However, if a repetitive call, the computing system diverts the particular call from the agent at the call center. Accordingly, the resources of the call center may be concentrated on original calls and away from repetitive calls.

Abstract: A medical infusion pump pressure plate alignment system and components that include a chassis, a sensor module, and a pressure plate in various embodiments. The pressure plate has a first end pivotally mounted to the chassis of the control module for pivotal retention and a second end selectively mounted to chassis of the control module. The pressure plate, hooks or rail contain recessed or projection features configured for receipt of the complementary features of the sensor module. Additional alignment features can include a retaining component incorporated with the hook, a guide feature on the outer surface of the pressure plate, and a kickstand feature attached to the rail.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems, methods and devices for delivering a drug or other therapy to a patient with an ambulatory infusion pump configured to provide a series of tolerance-building steps leading up to a plateau delivery rate. The plateau delivery rate is maintained until the prescribed amount of drug or therapy fluid is delivered to the patient. Embodiments of the invention include providing the patient or other user with a mechanism to decrease, or step down, the therapy delivery rate if a tolerance was not achieved at a lower rate, and providing notifications prior to a step up in a dosage delivery rate.

Abstract: A syringe pump configured to mechanically align a force sensor with an axis of a plunger of a syringe for a purpose of minimizing force measurement inaccuracies. The syringe pump includes a syringe pump housing that is configured to receive at least a portion of said syringe, wherein the syringe is selected from a plurality of syringes of different dimensions. A plunger retainer mechanism is pivotably coupled to the syringe pump housing and is configured to retain said plunger of said syringe. The plunger retainer mechanism pivots relative to the syringe pump housing based on a sensed dimension of the plunger to align a force sensor coupled to the plunger retainer mechanism with the axis of the plunger; and a syringe drive mechanism is operably coupled to the syringe pump housing and configured to shift the plunger relative to the portion of the syringe received by the syringe pump housing.
