Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for providing a three-dimensional (3D) image using a mobile broadcast network and a wireless communication network. The method of the present invention includes encoding a left image of a 3D image to the general definition; encoding a right image of the 3D image to the general definition or the high definition; determining quality of the image to be transmitted through a communication network based on the network status information; and transmitting the left image through a broadcast network and transmitting the right image with the determined quality through the communication network.

Disclosed are orthogonal frequency division multiplexing transmission method and apparatus. The method in the present invention comprises the steps of: generating a transmission frame including a preamble section including a channel connection information; adjusting the transmission frame to be timely synchronized with the transmission frames of the other channels; and transmitting the synchronized transmission frame through at least one of the connected channels.

A time synchronization method in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system comprises: a coarse time synchronization step of determining the start position of an OFDM symbol by performing coarse time synchronization using correlation of a protection interval of the OFDM symbol of a received signal; and a fine time synchronization step of estimating the fast Fourier transform (FFT) window position of the OFDM symbol by performing fine time synchronization through analysis of channel impulse response (CIR) characteristics of the received signal. Therefore, complexity of time offset estimation can be reduced, and accuracy of offset estimation can be improved.

Disclosed are a display device to display an information window and a service execution method thereof, capable of displaying an information window to notify service information on the display device, displaying the information window without disturbing the watching of contents displayed on the display device, and simply executing a service displayed on the information window. The display device according to the present invention includes an information window generating unit which displays the information window on one of the upper, lower, left, and right sides of a screen with a bar type, a signal detecting unit which detects a signal corresponding to the display position of the information window, and a control unit which controls to execute the service displayed on the information window according to the detection of the signal.

A method for transmitting high definition (HD) images and ultra high definition (UHD) images includes the following steps of: obtaining a first HD image by down-scaling an original UHD image; obtaining at least one of a second HD image or a half-resolution UHD image by down-scaling the original UHD; encoding the first HD image; encoding at least any one of the second HD image and the half-resolution UHD image; generating a first transmission stream by multiplexing and synchronizing the encoded first HD image; generating a second transmission stream by multiplexing and synchronizing at least any one of the encoded second HD image and the encoded half-resolution UHD image; transmitting the first transmission stream through a first transmission channel; and transmitting the second transmission stream through a second transmission channel which is distinguished from the first transmission channel.

Disclosed are a method, an apparatus, and a system for providing mobile advertisements in a small-scale wireless network. The method for providing mobile advertisements comprises the steps of: receiving an entrance message notifying that a mobile terminal enters a wireless network; receiving an information reception flag inquiring about whether or not to receive information about events near the current location of the mobile terminal, wherein the information about events includes information about discounts; and transmitting the information about events to the mobile terminal according to a response of the mobile terminal to the information reception flag. Therefore, when a subscriber using a mobile device exists in the network, information about ongoing events within the network can be provided for the subscriber through a short message service (SMS) or a mobile phone application. Consequentially, user convenience is improved.
