Abstract: PURPOSE: A depth image obtaining apparatus and a method thereof are provided to extract a pattern light projection area from a scene image and to supply the extracted area to the depth image obtaining apparatus. CONSTITUTION: An image receiving unit(120) receives a scene image. An image which is reflected according to the irradiation of a pattern light is the scene image. An area extracting unit(130) extracts a patterned light transmitting area from the scene image by using the variation of a channel according to time.

Abstract: PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for extracting a texture image and a depth image are provided to consecutively irradiate a pattern image to a target object and photograph a scene image. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus(101) includes a pattern image irradiating unit(102), an image photographing unit(103), and an image processing unit(104). The pattern image irradiating unit irradiates a pattern image to a target object. The image photographing unit takes a photograph of a scene image. If the pattern image is reflected from the target object, the pattern image is changed into the scene image. The image processing unit extracts a texture image and a depth image through the photographed scene image.
