Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a hot-rolled steel sheet which has strength exceeding 900 MPa and the product (strength (MPa)×elongation at rupture (%)) exceeding 45,000.SOLUTION: The austenitic iron/carbon/manganese steel sheet, composed, by wt.%, of 0.5-0.7% C, 17-24% Mn, ≤3% Si, ≤0.050% Al, ≤0.030% S, ≤0.080% P, ≤0.1% N and as the optional selection, one or more elements such as ≤1% Cr, ≤0.40% Mo, ≤1% Ni, ≤0.50% Ti, ≤0.50% Nb, ≤0.50% V, ≤5% Cu and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, is hot-rolled, cooled and wound under special conditions. Especially, a time till starting rapid cooling after completing the rolling, is regulated. The recrystallized fraction of the obtained hot-rolled steel sheet, is greater than 75% and the surface area fraction of the precipitated carbides of the steel is less than 1.5% and the average grain size of the steel is less than 18 μm.

A low nickel content austenitic stainless steel has the composition (by wt.) less than 0.1% C, 0.1-1% (exclusive) Si, 5-9% (exclusive) Mn, 0.1-2% (exclusive) Ni, 13-19% (exclusive) Cr, 1-4% (exclusive) Cu, 0.1-0.40% (exclusive) N, 5 x 10 -50 x 10 % (exclusive) B, less than 0.05% P and less than 0.01% S. Preferably, both the ferrite index (IF1) and the martensite stability index (IS) are less than 20, where IF1 = 0.034 x x + 0.284 x x - 0.347 and IS = 0.0267 x y + 0.4332 x y - 3.1459, in which x = 6.903 x Ä-6.998 + Cr% - 0.972 x (Ni% + 20.04C% + 21.31N% + 0.46Cu% + 0.08Mn%)Ü and y = 250.4 - 205.4C% - 101.4N% - 7.6Mn% - 12.1Ni% - 6.1Cr% - 13.3Cu%.
