The laser is scanned longitudinally of the body 1 which is rotated at a speed which may be varied to obtain a desired pattern of the portions 3. The resistance of the film is preferably increased by a factor of between 1 and 10.

(II) contains a (Pb) borosilicate glass and opt is modified with 5-30 wt.% La2O3 and/or MnO2 and can contain is not >10 wt.% TeO2, Al2O3 and/or noble metal (as resinate) (to regulate the resistance and its temp. coeff.). The compsn. contains 40-80 wt.% (I) and 20-60% (II).
