    Abstract: Various arrangements for allocating spectrum between a cellular network provider and a secondary operator are presented. A cellular network component of the secondary operator may determine that spectrum at a secondary operator radio unit (RU) is not currently needed. The cellular network component of the secondary operator may cause the spectrum to be released for use by a cellular network operator such that the secondary operator RU is not permitted to use the released spectrum. A cellular network operator RU may then communicate with a first set of user equipment (UE) using the released spectrum. The secondary operator RU and cellular network operator RU may be located at a same location.

    Abstract: A universal mounting apparatus suitable for use with a cellular communication system is disclosed here. The mounting apparatus can be used to mount a transceiver radio unit to an antenna structure. The mounting apparatus includes a first mounting plate compatible with the antenna structure, a second mounting plate couplable to the first mounting plate and slidably adjustable relative to the first mounting plate. Openings in the second mounting plate are arranged in a pattern compatible with different possible mounting fastener locations for transceiver radio units. At least one adjustment fastener couples the mounting plates together. When the at least one adjustment fastener is loosened, position of the second mounting plate is adjustable relative to the first mounting plate. When the at least one adjustment fastener is tightened, position of the second mounting plate is locked relative to the first mounting plate.

    Abstract: Various base station cellular enclosures are detailed herein. An airfoil enclosure housing may be present that defines a cavity for housing a base station cellular antenna. The housing may have a leading edge and a vent that permits air from external the airfoil enclosure housing to enter the cavity of the airfoil enclosure housing. The enclosure may further include a rotatable coupling that attaches the airfoil enclosure housing to a support structure. The rotatable coupling can allow the airfoil enclosure housing to rotate based on wind such that the leading edge faces into the wind.

    Abstract: Systems, devices, and automated processes are provided for selective access to multiple available slices of a network from at least one cell by a user equipment (UE) to enable reductions in slice failure access to the network. The method includes: accessing at a first cell, by the UE, slice A of the network wherein slice A provides higher bandwidth and lower latency access than slice B; and accessing at a second cell, by the UE, both slice A and slice B of the network wherein slice B have greater access availability than slice A wherein if the UE attempts to access the first or second cell then via cell reselection of the UE making a determination to select the second cell if the user is authorized for use of a premium service for the higher bandwidth and lower latency access of slice A else selecting by the UE the first cell for network access of slice B.

    Abstract: Various systems and methods for scheduling data transmissions from a base station to user equipment (UE) are presented. Channel quality indicator values that correspond to multiple UE may be determined for multiple carrier components of a cellular network's carrier aggregation. A scheduling matrix may be created that includes instantaneous data transfer rates for the UE. Elements within the scheduling matrix may be normalized by modifying instantaneous data transmission rates using average data transmission rates. Scheduling decisions for data transfers may be made for the UE based on the normalized scheduling matrix.

    Abstract: Disclosed is creation of a very narrow bandwidth part (BWP), referred to herein as a virtual BWP. The virtual BWP is created within an operating channel that is not supported by 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) current standards (e.g., below 5MHz). This enables a wireless network to be even more flexible in supporting a variety of use cases. In particular, the network artificially creates a small virtual BWP and assigns it to users without requiring any explicit signaling to the user for creating the virtual BWP. The virtual BWPs will limit the physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), the physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) data region, the physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) and the physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) for a given user which can be associated with slicing.

    Abstract: Sequential migration of network functions between old or legacy vendors and new vendors in a 5G telephone network is enabled without disruption to end-users. Network functions are migrated between control planes of network slices. A first network slice A is associated with a legacy vendor having a first set of network functions, and a second network slice B is associated with a new vendor having a second set of network functions. A gradual staged transfer of network functions originally contained in the control plane of the network slice A is migrated to the control plane of network slice B. The gradual transfer is a migration of network functions in a set of multiple stages to create the subset of the network functions in the control plane of slice B.

    Abstract: By providing and using a machine-to-machine (M2M) Embedded Universal Integrated Circuit Card (eUICC) in a consumer cellular telephone, a wireless carrier is able to download and manage profiles on the eUICC and is able to enable it for service on new networks, such as a wireless carrier's 5G or other network and migrate the cellular telephone to the new network without any interaction of the consumer with the cellular telephone and, in most cases, without any knowledge of the consumer that anything on their cellular telephone or SIM has changed. This is different from consumer style eUICCs where interaction of the consumer with the cellular telephone is needed.
