    Abstract: A method and apparatus for prediction-based non-terrestrial network beam configuration and switching are provided. A base station determines a bandwidth part configuration for a user equipment, which includes a plurality of bandwidth parts respectively corresponding to a plurality of geographic areas. The base station configures the user equipment with the bandwidth part configuration and determines a position or movement of the user equipment in a first geographic area corresponding to a first bandwidth part. The base station determines, based on the position or movement, whether a criterion for reconfiguring the bandwidth part configuration is met. In response to determining that the criterion is met, the base station reconfigures the bandwidth part configuration of the user equipment while the user equipment is positioned in the first geographic area. The reconfiguration includes modifying the plurality of bandwidth parts to include a second bandwidth part corresponding to a second geographic area.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for communication link adaptation and communication networks involving ground-based user equipment and non-terrestrial stations. A communication is received indicating signal quality of a first signal transmitted during a first transmission period and a plurality of fading losses associated with the first signal are obtained. A first fading loss and a second fading loss associated with the first signal are estimated for a future time, the first fading loss based on application of a first filter, and the second fading loss based on differences determined between the first fading loss and the plurality of fading losses. A signal-to-interference-plus-noise-ratio is calculated and includes at least one of the first fading loss and the second fading loss. A non-terrestrial station transmits, for a second time period, a second signal having settings determined based on the signal-to-interference-plus-noise-ratio.

    Abstract: Systems, devices, and automated processes are provided for selective access to multiple available slices of a network from at least one cell by a user equipment (UE) to enable reductions in slice failure access to the network. The method includes: accessing at a first cell, by the UE, slice A of the network wherein slice A provides higher bandwidth and lower latency access than slice B; and accessing at a second cell, by the UE, both slice A and slice B of the network wherein slice B have greater access availability than slice A wherein if the UE attempts to access the first or second cell then via cell reselection of the UE making a determination to select the second cell if the user is authorized for use of a premium service for the higher bandwidth and lower latency access of slice A else selecting by the UE the first cell for network access of slice B.

    Abstract: Various systems and methods for scheduling data transmissions from a base station to user equipment (UE) are presented. Channel quality indicator values that correspond to multiple UE may be determined for multiple carrier components of a cellular network's carrier aggregation. A scheduling matrix may be created that includes instantaneous data transfer rates for the UE. Elements within the scheduling matrix may be normalized by modifying instantaneous data transmission rates using average data transmission rates. Scheduling decisions for data transfers may be made for the UE based on the normalized scheduling matrix.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for non-terrestrial network beam switching is provided. A non-terrestrial network base station includes a transmitter configured to transmit downlink data to user equipment and a receiver configured to receive uplink data from the user equipment. A channel bandwidth of the non-terrestrial network base station is divided into a plurality of bandwidth parts respectively corresponding to a plurality of geographic areas, and each bandwidth part is respectively associated with a satellite beam. When the user equipment is located in a first geographic area, the transmitter transmits the downlink data to the user equipment over a corresponding first bandwidth part. After the user equipment transitions from the first geographic area to a second geographic area, the transmitter transmits the downlink data to the user equipment over a corresponding second bandwidth part of the plurality of bandwidth parts.

    Abstract: Various arrangements for using multiple air interfaces on a frequency channel for side-link communications are presented. A first indication of a first time-window of a first resource pool may be transmitted by a first air interface system. A second indication of a second time-window of a second resource pool may be transmitted by a second air interface system.     Abstract: Systems and methods of scheduling bit rates for first-class traffic for a first and second class session for a device; honoring for the device each first class session with the bit rate equal to a session aggregate maximum bit rate (AMBR) by a scheduler by assigning a threshold for an aggregate bit rate for traffic for each first-class session; if a total of the aggregate bit rate of traffic for each first class session is below the threshold assigned, then assigning each first class session the session AMBR for first-class session traffic for the device; if the total of the aggregate bit rate of traffic for each first class session is above the threshold assigned, then proportionality scheduling packets of the traffic for the first class session of the device to limit the aggregate rate of the first-class traffic below the threshold.
