A road scraping device attachable to the tipping bucket 25 of a tractor (not shown) comprises a wheeled frame I carrying two rows of spaced inclined shovels 6 individually spring-loaded downwardly. Each shovel may be clamped to a pivoted arm biassed by a spring-loaded bolt 13. Alternatively each shovel may be carried by a spring-steel bracket. The shovels 6 in the two rows may be staggered. The tractor bucket 25 may be bolted to the frame I but as shown is held against hooked frame bars 26 by a hook 29 on a chain tightened by a screw 30.

    Abstract: 490,140. Hydraulic presses; squirting. DUNCAN, STEWART, & CO., Ltd., SENTANCE, H. G. V., IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., and RUSSELL, G. A. V. Jan. 9, 1937, No. 731. [Class 83 (iv)] Relates to hydraulic presses with main and auxiliary tools and particularly of the vertical type of press for the extrusion of metal tubes, bars and the like, and consists in a construction in which the main ram is provided with a corresponding cross-head, on which moves an auxiliary cross-head, operated independently by an auxiliary ram or rams. As shown, the main tool 4 is mounted in a cross-head 2 connected to a main ram 1 moving in a cylinder 8. An auxiliary tool 5 or mandrel is connected to a cross-head 3 sliding in guide faces 14 on the main crosshead. The cross-head 3 is connected to auxiliary rams 6 working in cylinders 7 and provided with bores 11 in which plungers 10 attached to the main cross-head slide. Telescopic tubes 12 are connected with a source of uniform pressure such as an accumulator. Push back rams operate on the main cross-head and when pressure is exhausted therefrom the main cross-head and auxiliary cross-head move downwardly without relative movement, low pressure fluid being admitted to the cylinders 7 and 8. When higher pressure fluid is admitted to the cylinders 7 the auxiliary cross-head moves over the main crosshead. The arrangement provides a squat press.
