Abstract: A data acquisition system which includes data generating and processing units ( 1 a , 1 b , 1 c), each of which includes a respective data source ( 3 a 1, 3 a 2, 3 b 1, 3 c 1 ) which serves to generate data. The data each time generated is processed by means of associated data processing means ( 2 a , 2 b , 2 c 11 a 1, 11 a 2, 12 a 1, 12 a 2, 13 a 1, 13 a 2 ) in such a manner that each time a digital data word which comprises at least two bits is presented for output. The output of the digital data words takes place in synchronous-parallel fashion in dependence on first control signals ( 4, 5 ). Shift registers ( 6 a , 6 b , 6 c) which are coupled to one another so as to form a chain propagate the digital data words in synchronous-parallel fashion in dependence on second control signals ( 7, 8 ) and are coupled to a respective associated data generating and processing unit ( 1 a , 1 b , 1 c).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fluorescent lamp including a visible radiation and/or UV-radiation transmissive discharge vessel, at least one luminescent layer coated onto the inner wall of the discharge vessel for converting UV-radiation to other wavelengths of UV-A, UV-B and/or visible radiation characterized in, that at a section to which no luminescent layer is applied on the inner surface area of said discharge vessel at least one substrate layer is applied on the outer surface of this area of said discharge vessel, and/or at least a section to which luminescent layer is applied on the inner surface area of said discharge vessel at least one substrate layer is applied on the outer surface of this area of said discharge vessel; whereby said substrate layer comprises at least one volatile organic material being releasable over an extended time period, whereby the volatile organic material is released by UV-radiation and/or thermal heat generated from said fluorescent lamp and, whereby at operation the temperature of the outer surface of the discharge vessel of said fluorescent lamp is ≦̸70° C.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a window transparent for electrons of an electron beam (E), in particular of an X-ray source. In order to enable a less costly and elaborate manufacture of such a window and in order to prevent unwanted sharp edges in a window area which may damage the window foil ( 2 ), a method is proposed comprising the steps of:-providing on a surface ( 11 ) of a carrier element ( 1 ) to which a window foil ( 2 ) shall be a fixed a receiving area ( 13, 16 ) for receiving a soldering material ( 3 ) used for fixing said window foil ( 2 ) to said carrier element ( 1 ), said carrier element ( 1 ) comprising a through hole ( 12 ) for the transmission of said electrons (E),-covering said surface ( 11 ) having said receiving area ( 13, 16 ) with a soldering material ( 3 ) such that substantially only said receiving area ( 13, 16 ) is filled with soldering material ( 3 ),-placing said window foil ( 2 ) on top of said surface ( 1 ) and-heating said soldering material ( 3 ) for fixing said window foil ( 2 ) to said surface ( 11 ).
