Abstract: A system, such as an ear-wearable device or a hearing aid, can receive multiple audio signals representing a same audio content, can cross-correlate the multiple audio signals to determine relative delays between the audio signals, can apply the determined delays to at least one of the audio signals to form multiple synchronized audio signals, and can mix at least two of the synchronized audio signals in time-varying proportions to form an output audio signal. The system can optionally adjust the mix proportions, in real time, to increase or optimize the signal-to-noise ratio of the output audio signal. The system can optionally perform the cross-correlation repeatedly, at regular or irregular time intervals, to update the relative delays. The system can optionally divide the audio signals into frequency bands, and apply these operations to each frequency band, independent of the other frequency bands.

Abstract: Disclosed herein, among other things, are apparatus and methods for an automatic hearing loop memory for hearing assistance systems. A method includes receiving an acoustic input at a microphone and receiving an inductive input at a magnetic sensor. The method further includes using an operatively connected processor of the hearing assistance system to process the acoustic input from the microphone using instructions stored in a first set of memory locations, and to process the inductive input from the magnetic sensor using instructions stored in a second set of memory locations, and to optionally discontinue processing the acoustic input when a demodulator circuit operatively connected to the processor detects a predetermined signal indicative of the presence of a hearing loop system.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to ear-worn devices that can track exposure to hearing degrading conditions and/or provide notifications or warnings regarding the same. In an embodiment, an ear-worn device is included having a control circuit, a microphone in electrical communication with the control circuit, an electroacoustic transducer for generating sound in electrical communication with the control circuit, and a power supply circuit in electrical communication with the control circuit, wherein the ear-worn device is configured to track exposure to hearing degrading conditions over time via at least one of the microphone and a sensor package and wherein the ear-worn device is configured to store data regarding the tracked exposure. Abstract: Disclosed herein, among other things, are apparatus and methods for a hearing assistance device housing for biometric sensing. In various embodiments, a hearing assistance device for a wearer includes a housing customized to conform to a continuous section of an inner portion of an ear of the wearer and to extend radially to one or more edges of a conchal bowl of the ear. The housing is configured to be placed in the inner portion of the ear of the wearer, and a biometric sensor is included on a surface of the housing. According to various embodiments, the housing is configured to maintain contact of the biometric sensor with the inner portion of the ear of the wearer during activity of the wearer, to enhance accuracy of biometric sensing.

Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to hearing device systems that can utilize proxy devices to convey emergency communications. In an embodiment, the system operates in a first communication mode and a second communication mode. The first communication mode can include the hearing device being paired to a wireless communication enabled device for conveying data to a non-local network as initiated by the hearing device. The second communication mode can include the hearing device accessory being paired to the wireless communication enabled device for conveying data to the non-local network as initiated by the hearing device. The system can enter the second communication mode when the hearing device cannot communicate with the wireless communication enabled device. The hearing device accessory uses a hardware address of the hearing device to communicate with the wireless communication enabled device as if it was paired thereto. Other embodiments are also included herein.

Abstract: A system includes a hearing device comprising a rechargeable power source, power management circuitry, and a first charging interface comprising a first cathode contact and a first anode contact spaced apart from the first cathode contact. A charging module comprises a second charging interface configured to detachably couple with the first charging interface of the hearing device. The second charging interface comprises a second anode contact having a contact surface and a displaceable second cathode contact. An arrangement is configured to displace at least a portion of the second cathode contact above the contact surface to facilitate electrical contact between the first and second cathode contacts prior to electrical contact between the first and second anode contacts. Charging circuitry of the charging module is coupled to the second charging interface and configured to charge the rechargeable power source of the hearing device.

The device is configured collect two-dimensional (2-D) reflection coefficient data comprising a reflection coefficient of the antenna as a function of frequency and of time in response to transmission of the signals. The device is configured to detect a particular input gesture of a plurality of input gestures of the wearer using the 2-D reflection coefficient data, and implement a predetermined function of the ear-worn electronic device in response to detecting the particular input gesture.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a monitoring system are disclosed. The monitoring system includes first and second sensors each adapted to detect a characteristic of a subject of the system and generate data representative of the characteristic of the subject, and a controller operatively connected to the first and second sensors. The controller is adapted to receive data representative of first and second characteristics of the subject from the first and second sensors, and determine statistics for first and second condition substates of the subject over a monitoring time period based upon the data received from the first and second sensors. The controller is further adapted to compare the statistics of the first and second condition substates, confirm the first condition substate if it is substantially similar to the second condition substate, and determine the statistics of an overall condition state of the subject based upon the confirmed first condition substate.
