Abstract:
The invention relates to spectral instrument engineering and is used for exciting spectra for spectral analysis. The aim of said invention is to develop a small-sized multi-purpose arc spectrum excitation source for alternate and constant voltage having a high performance and a high discharge current stability which makes it possible to set the required value of the arc current prior to the initiation thereof. The inventive arc discharge generator comprises a power supply circuit, a circuit for forming arc current provided with switching transistors, a current-responsive resistance provided with an operating amplifier connected thereto, an LC circuit provided with electrodes connected thereto, a unit for forming a high-voltage arc initiation pulse and a control unit. The circuit for forming arc current comprises a multi-level comparator and a special-purpose processor, a capacitor and an inductance being serially connected to the electrodes. Said multilevel comparator is connected, through the operating amplifiers, to a resistor and the special-purpose processor which calculates the mean square value of a resistive voltage drop. An additional key is connected in parallel to the capacitor.
Abstract:
Various optoelectronic circuits and photonic digital-to-analog converters are realized with one or more heterojunction thyristor devices and supporting circuitry. Such optoelectronic circuits include optically-controlled and electrically-controlled sampling/switching devices and optical data receivers. The photonic digital-to-analog converters include converters that process a plurality of digital optical signals that synchronously encode digital information as well as converters that process a digital optical signal that serially encodes digital information.
Abstract:
An improved THz detection mechanism includes a heterojunction thyristor structure logically formed by an n-type quantum-well-base bipolar transistor and p-type quantum-wellbase bipolar transistor arranged vertically to share a common collector region. Antenna elements, which are adapted to receive electromagnetic radiation in a desired portion of the THz region, are electrically coupled (or integrally formed with) the p-channel injector electrodes of the heterojunction thyristor device such the that antenna elements are electrically connected to the p-type modulation doped quantum well interface of the device. THz radiation supplied by the antenna elements to the p-type quantum well interface increases electron temperature of a two-dimensional electron gas at the p-type modulation doped quantum well interface thereby producing a current resulting from thermionic emission over a potential barrier provided by said first-type modulation doped quantum well interface. This current flows over the p-type channel barrier to the ntype quantum well interface, thereby causing charge to accumulate in the n-type quantum well interface. The accumulated charge in the n-type quantum well interface is related to the intensity of the received THz radiation. The heterojunction-thyristor-based THz detector is suitable for many applications, including data communication applications and imaging applications.
Abstract:
A substance with sedative effect comprises a therapeutically effective amount of a gamma-pyrone such as comenic acid, meconic acid, chelidonic acid, and alike in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. When administered at a daily dosage of between 5 and 200 mg of active ingredient per kilogram of a body weight of a patient, the substance can be used to treat various neurotic disorders such as insomnia, anxiety, neurosis, depression as well as withdrawal symptoms for drug addiction patients, especially for patients addicted to opioid-based drugs. The substance can be delivered in a number of ways of systemic administration of a pharmaceutical agent including oral, parenteral, transdermal, and transmucosal administration. For drug addicted patients, the preferred method of administration involves a subcutaneous implant providing a continuous release of an active ingredient at an effective daily rate over the entire treatment period ranging from 5 to 30 days, and preferably from 13 to 20 days.

Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for tracking weak signal traces under severe noise and/or distortions. A method may include tracking at least one candidate frequency trace from a time-frequency representation of a signal. The method may also include identifying a frequency trace of the signal based on tracking results. In addition, the method may include outputting an estimated frequency vector related to the frequency trace. Further, the tracking may be performed under a noisy condition environment.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a counterbalance apparatus, and a method for counterbalancing using an apparatus, having a center of motion that is internal or external to the apparatus. The apparatus and method are adapted to support a payload, having a load vector applied in a direction of the vector or gravity, that is positioned distal to the center of motion. The apparatus includes a gimbal adapted to support the payload and allow for its rotational movement about the center of motion generating a load torque therefrom, and a resilient member adapted to engage the gimbal and supply a support torque to counterbalance the load torque. The method includes a step of supporting the payload with a gimbal adapted to allow rotational movement of the payload about the center of motion to generate a load torque therefrom, and a step of configuring a resilient member to engage the gimbal and supply a support torque to counterbalance the load torque.
Abstract:
A counterbalance apparatus for supporting a load is provided. The apparatus includes a base, a load bearing arm, a toggle linkage, and first and second resilient members for applying a force to the load bearing arm. The load bearing arm consists of a plurality of pivot points forming a parallelogram linkage, may project from the base at an attachment point and is adapted to support the load at a distal end. The toggle linkage may be pivotally connected to the base and moveable between a non-load bearing position and a load bearing position. The toggle linkage may also comprise an adjustment member positioned to define a distance relative to the attachment point. The first resilient member is adapted to apply a force to the load bearing arm and may have a first end connected to a first portion of the parallelogram linkage and a second end connected to the adjustment member; and the second resilient member is also adapted to apply a force to the load bearing arm and may have a first end connected to a second portion of the parallelogram linkage and a second end connected to the adjustment member. Movement of the toggle linkage from the non-load bearing position to the load bearing position engages the forces of the resilient members and movement of the adjustment member varies the distance to adjust a support vector adapted to counterbalance the load vector.
