Abstract: PURPOSE: A cosmetic composition containing a taxifolin glucoside, and a method for preparing a Paeonia lactiflora extract are provided to optimally obtain high content taxifolin glucosides, and to ensure skin whitening, anti-wrinkling, anti-inflammation, an antibacterial effect, atopy treatment, and UV protection. CONSTITUTION: A cosmetic composition contains 0.0001-10wt% of taxifolin glucoside as an active ingredient. The taxifolin glucoside is extracted from Paeonia lactiflora. The taxifolin glucoside is taxifolin-3-glucoside. The composition has one or more functions selected among skin whitening, anti-wrinkling, anti-inflammation, an anti-bacterial effect, atopy treatment, and UV protection. A method for preparing a Paeonia lactiflora extract comprises: a step of adding taxifolin glucoside into a solvent, and eluting the taxifolin glucoside; a step of concentrating the extract; a step of fractioning with two or more solvents; a step of passing the extract through a column; and a step of precipitating and re-crystallizing.
