The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for managing energy consumption in a home network system including a plurality of home devices. The method according to the present invention comprises the following steps of: generating power consumption information of a plurality of home devices by collecting a power consumption measuring result of each of the home devices and analyzing the collected measuring results; and transmitting the power consumption information to a user device when the transmission request for a power consumption information is received from the user device, wherein the power consumption information includes power consumption information for each room in a house.

The present invention provides a method for outputting a user interface (UI) according to a service provided to a user, and a device thereof. A UI outputting method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: selecting a service to be provided via a service providing device; selecting UI components stored in a database based on the selected service; and displaying the UI including the selected UI components on a screen.

A home monitoring method and an apparatus thereof are disclosed. A home gateway according to the present invention executes a process for receiving a request message of home monitoring from a mobile terminal; a process for providing monitoring information about a monitoring location and/or a camera module included in at least one home device previously registered in response to the request message to the mobile terminal; a process for receiving selection information indicating a first camera module selected based on camera information from the mobile terminal; a process for transmitting the image data collected and captured by the first camera module in response to the reception of the selection information to the mobile terminal; a process for receiving a control command for the first camera module from the mobile terminal; and a process for transmitting the control command to the first home device including the first camera module.

PURPOSE: A method for generating a contents list and a multimedia device adopting the same are provided to generate a contents list for plural contents which correspond to the value indicated by a graph so that a user may generates a desirable contents list through a convenient way. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(650) receives a graphs according to a user command inputted through an operation unit, and generates a contents list for plural contents corresponding to the value indicated by the graph. The operation unit includes a touch screen(645). The control unit displays a graph input screen, and receives the graph drawn through the touch screen on the graph input screen. The graph input screen includes a boundary line which classifies the plural ranges, and an indicator which indicates the characteristics of the range.

A method for providing GUI to display related contents and a multimedia apparatus applying the same are provided to add the related contents by scrapping the related contents by automatically searching for the related contents while a user generates the content. A contents generation window(400) displays the currently generated multimedia contents. A related contents window(450) displays the currently generated contents and the related contents in the contents generation window. If an arrow displayed beside the related contents of the related contents window is clicked, other related contents are displayed. If the related contents are a photograph(460) or a moving images(480), thumbnail is generated by reducing the photograph or the thumbnail or the reduced thumbnail is displayed by extracting the specific part of the screen or the initial part of the moving picture. If the related contents are music, the file name of the music file is displayed in the related contents window.

A liquid crystal display device is provided to form corrugated parts at first and second sides of a pixel electrode and to shorten distance between inner rear parts of the corrugated parts and cut parts of the common electrode to improve permeability and to increase response speed. A liquid crystal display device comprises a pixel electrode(191), a gate line(121), a data line(171), and a common electrode. The pixel electrode includes first and second sub pixels(191a,191b) which are separated from each other. The gate line transfers a gate signal to the pixel electrode. The data line transfers data voltage to the pixel electrode. The common electrode, having a slope direction determining member, faces the pixel electrode. The pixel electrode includes first and second sides horizontal to the data line. The slope direction determining member has a straight line part horizontal to the data line or the gate line. The first and second sub pixel electrodes include multiple projections. The slope direction determining member includes cut parts(70a,70b).
