Abstract: PURPOSE: An auxiliary power device and a user device including auxiliary power device are provided to automatically block power of a main power device at sudden power off of a main power device and automatically supply auxiliary power, thereby reducing an unstable situation such as power ripple or switching delay. CONSTITUTION: A super capacitor(110) stores auxiliary power. Uni-directional devices(121,122) automatically block main power by a power level of a main power device(15) at sudden power off. The uni-directional devices automatically supply auxiliary power of the super capacitor. The first power detector(131) detects the power level of the main power device. The second power detector(132) detects a power level of the super capacitor. A controller(150) performs a data backup operation.

Abstract: A portable terminal having a variable grounding unit is provided to obtain the optimum antenna radiation characteristic by varying the area of grounding according to an operation state such as an open/closed state, a change of modes or a change of bandwidths. A portable terminal having a variable grounding unit comprises a main body(110), a sub body(120), a metallic hinge module(30), antenna radiators(40,50), electrical connection units(31,32), switching units, and a control part. The main body comprises a main board having a grounding part. The sub body comprises a slave board having a grounding part. The hinge module opens and closes the sub body for the main body. The antenna radiators are grounded to the grounding part of the main board. The electrical connection units, respectively inserted between the grounding part of the main board and the hinge module and between the hinge module and the ground part of the slave board, make electrical connections. The switching units, respectively installed at the electrical connection units, make selective electrical connections. The control part controls the switching units in order to adjust the radiation characteristic of the antenna radiators according to states of the portable terminal.
