Abstract: The present invention relates to an indoor unit of an air conditioner having an improved air discharge structure. In an aspect of the present invention, provided is the indoor unit of the air conditioner comprising: a panel which forms the appearance and has an opening; a mixed flow fan located inside the panel; a heat exchanger unit located at the rear of the mixed flow fan; an inlet port located at the rear of the heat exchanger unit to draw air from the rear of the heat exchanger unit into the mixed flow fan; an outlet port exposed toward the front of the panel through the opening to discharge the air passing the mixed flow fan through the front side of the panel; and a plurality of circular louvers which move in the outward direction from the center of the outlet port to open and close the outlet port. The indoor unit of the air conditioner has a simplified flow channel of air to increase operation efficiency of the indoor unit and enable miniaturization in size. Moreover, the indoor unit can separately open and close the left side and the right side of the outlet port, provide a beautiful design because an opening and closing unit is located below a disk, and open and close the outlet port with a small number of components.

Abstract: An air conditioner according to the present invention comprises a housing including a front panel with an opening and a rear panel on the rear side of the front panel; a jet flow fan on the rear side of the front panel to be rotated; an outlet exposed to the front side of the front panel through the opening; and a diffuser on the front side of the jet flow fan. The diffuser includes a fixed diffuser on the front side of the jet flow fan to guide air discharged from the jet flow fan; and a movable diffuser on the front side of the fixed diffuser. The movable diffuser includes a circular movable disk plate at the center of the outlet to be rotated; a ring-shaped movable grill on the outer surface of the outlet; a rotation part at the rear center of the movable disk plate to rotate the movable disk plate; and a plurality of movable blades extending from the movable disk plate to the movable grill to change the current of discharged air guided by the fixed diffuser.
