무선통신 시스템에서 채널 스캐닝 방법은, 액세스 포인트(Access Point: AP)의 신호 세기와 스캐닝 임계치를 비교하여 채널 스캐닝을 결정하는 과정과, 상기 채널 스캐닝을 수행할 시, 제1 채널 스캐닝 방식과 제2 채널 스캐닝 방식에 따른 스캐닝 소요시간을 고려하여 채널 스캐닝 스케줄 목록을 생성하는 과정과, 상기 채널 스캐닝 스케줄 목록에 따라, 채널 스캐닝 시간마다 채널 스캐닝을 수행하는 과정을 포함하여, 채널 스캐닝 지연시간을 줄일 수 있는 이점이 있다. .

PURPOSE: A data management apparatus of a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to improve the management performance of pre-stored data. CONSTITUTION: A data management unit(110) stores by classifying pre-stored data into data related to a keyword. The data management unit generates and outputs a layer classifying according to use weight of a user among the pre-stored data. The data management unit classifies data related to the keyword. The data management unit extracts the other keyword from the classified data. The data management unit classifies the pre-stored data into the data related to the keyword.

A digital broadcasting station for providing filtered program guide information, a digital broadcasting receiving terminal, and a program guide information providing method are provided to extract only program guide information that a user wants and supply the extracted information to the user, thereby reducing a time for processing and displaying entire program guide information received from the digital broadcasting station. A memory stores filtering information corresponding to a program guide information requester, entire program guide information for digital broadcasting, and user information for determining whether the program guide information requester is an effective user or not. A subscriber information receiver receives a program guide information request from the program guide information requester, and extracts user authentication information included in the program guide information request. A filtering unit extracts at least one or more program guide information from the entire program guide information according to the filtering information. A controller authenticates the program guide information requester by using the user authentication information. If the program guide information requester is an authenticated user, the controller transmits the program guide information, extracted according to the filtering information, as a response to the program guide information request.

A method for efficiently providing ESG(Electronic Service Guide) data in a DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) system and a system therefor are provided to apply a profiling method for separating minimum ESG data capable of performing a DVB-H service and transmitting the separated ESG data to an additional session to reduce ESG data receiving standby time considerably. A DVB-H service provider transmits ESG data to a terminal(500). The terminal judges whether profiling for separating and processing minimum ESG data is set up in the ESG data(505,515,520). When the profiling is set up, the terminal grasps whether a profile type set up in the ESG data indicates a basic profile session including basic data necessary for providing a DVB-H broadcasting service(530,535). The terminal searches and processes the basic profile session on the basis of the grasped result(545,550).

A method for managing a preference channel in a terrestrial DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) receiving terminal is provided to manage the preference channel in consideration of synchronization with previously stored channel information in inter-area movement. A terrestrial DMB receiving terminal outputs a picture for displaying a list for one of respective service channels. The terrestrial DMB receiving terminal displays a menu capable of allowing a user to register at least one or more channels in the channel list as preference channels on the picture. The terrestrial DMB receiving terminal registers a channel selected through the menu by the user as a preference channel. The terrestrial DMB receiving terminal judges whether a broadcasting service area is changed according to inter-area movement(710). When the broadcasting service area is changed, the terrestrial DMB receiving terminal receives new broadcasting service configuration information(720). The terrestrial DMB receiving terminal judges whether changed channel information exists on the basis of the broadcasting service configuration information(730). The terrestrial DMB receiving terminal updates information about the registered preference channel on the basis of the changed channel information(740,750).

본 발명은 이동통신 단말기에서 온톨로지 데이터베이스를 이용한 데이터 검색 장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 이동통신 단말기에서 데이터 검색 방법은, 단말 내 기능 및 데이터를 온톨로지 데이터베이스로 관리하는 과정과, 검색 기능을 이용하여 검색어를 입력받는 과정과, 상기 온톨로지 데이터베이스를 이용하여 상기 입력받은 검색어와 관련된 하나 이상의 데이터를 검색하는 과정과, 상기 검색된 하나 이상의 데이터를 표시하는 과정을 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for minimizing a session establishment delay time in a network are provided to consider a frame error rate in a wireless channel environment, thereby determining each session establishment delay time. CONSTITUTION: A user agent client(UAC) requests a mobile Internet protocol television(IPTV) service to a user agent server(UAS)(400). The UAC transmits an invite message to the UAS(402). The UAS determines a packet loss for session establishment(404). An adaptive retransmitting timer is operated(406). A session establishment packet is retransmitted(410). The session establishment is completed(412). A session connection process is performed between the UAS and UAC. The mobile IPTV service is provided to the UAC through a connected session(414).

PURPOSE: A method and a system for providing unicast service in a mobile digital broadcasting service are provided to support broadcasting service method through DVB-H(Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) broadcasting network and unicast service module through 3G communication network. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcasting device(101) sets transmission method and information request method which each channel is available to support in specific area of ESG(Electronic Service Guide) data session. A broadcasting receiving terminal(131) receives a first data-session of ESG. The broadcasting receiving terminal grasps information about transmission method which is set in the specific area and the information request method. The transmission method includes a broadcast type and unicast type.

A method for transceiving an ESG and a digital broadcasting system are provided to update not only the ESG data transmitted through a broadcasting network but also the ESG data transmitted through a communication network in a broadcast receiving terminal, thereby saving the time and resource. A digital broadcasting transmitter collects ESG data to be transmitted(500), and then distinguishes ESG data to be transmitted through a communication network(502) by determining whether ESG fragments to be transmitted exist within the ESG data. The digital broadcasting transmitter determines whether the distinguished ESG data exists(504), and then generates an ESG data session so that URL(Uniform Resource Locator) information can be included, if the distinguished ESG data exists(506).

A GMT(Greenwich Mean Time) providing method in the mobile broadcasting service and a system thereof are provided to allow a mobile terminal to obtain the GMT even when the transmission environment of a broadcast network is unstable. When the mobile broadcasting service is initiated, a mobile terminal receives and stores a GMT access address information through the ESG(Electronic Service Guide) bootstrap session. By using the stored GMT access address information, the mobile terminal connects to a communication network to request the GMT(203). According to the request of the mobile terminal, the communication network transmits the GMT to the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal receives and sets up the GMT(205).
