Abstract: A content receiving device and a method for calculating a CUS(Contents Usage Score) thereof are provided to calculate CUSs of the whole contents and each internal section of the contents by calculating the CUSs based on the analysis of signals generated from a remote controller. A CUS calculator(122) calculates a CUS representing user's interest in the contents by analyzing operation commands of the user. A storing part(125) stores the CUS calculated by the CUS calculator. The operation commands generated from the remote controller(110) are analyzed through at least one combination of an inclination factor, a percentage factor, a frequency factor, and a recency factor based on play, pause, stop, fast forward, and rewind signals generated from the remote controller.
